But sometimes a crappy romcom is the only thing that does the trick :p I will maintain this. 'The Holiday' isn't as bad as Notting Hill :p

HOW CAN YOU CALL NOTTING HILL BAD?! It's amazing! Aaaaah Hugh Grant films, I will never tire of thee...

Martons been replying for so long, I expect a full dissertation on the merits of children of men when you post.

About 10 mins into Children of Men was when I suspected it would be one of the best cinematic experiences of the year. And yes, I hadn't enjoyed myself that much since King Kong. Which isnt the best movie, but looked great on the big screen

Children of Men, however, does stand on it's own feet outside of impressive action sequences and I would deffinitely reccomend getting the DVD.

Unfortunately you'll just have to pretend the last 2 seconds of the movie didn't happen.

Title: Last King of Scotland
Genre: ...
Basic Plot: A Scot goes to Africa and becomes the presidents pal. But then realises he will have to kill the president.
Good actors: The black man (president) is going to win best actor ever award, so I hear. And he deserves it.
Products Placements: None that I saw
Minutes too long: None
Deaths: Quite a few, but mostly part of the back story.
Hotties: The man is nice, not really many others. The girl he has sex with has a nice butt
Pervs in the audience: A few sex scenes
Best Quote: The president insults the gingers. It is quite humerous.
Highlight: I cant think of an exact point :-X.
Lowlight: A few bits I didnt understand.
Score:7.9 out of 10. See it, if only for the president mans acting.

Notting Hill was nominated for 3 Golden Globes. Another 12 wins & 14 nominations.

It is a silly film, and gash may be a good word to describe it, but it's enjoyable and funny.

Title: Them.
Genre: French Horror movie.
Good actors: All the actors are really good.
Products Placements: Nokia.
Minutes too long: None.
Deaths: 6.
Attractive females: Clementine.
Best Quote: "They did not want to play with us".
Highlight: It is really creepy and jumply, but also it really quiet - all the music and noises are really important.
Lowlight: The big secret at the end is sort of disappointing a tiny bit, but also it is pretty scary too.
Score: 8 screams out of 10.

It hurts too much not to try.

Title: Rocky Balboa
Genre: Rocky Movies
Basic Plot: Rocky is old but wants to fight. Same as all of them
Good actors: Mr Stallone.
Products Placements:www.goldenpalace.com - written on the chest of a half naked ring girl. I was horrified to find it was a real productly placed website.
Minutes too long: Arrive late to this movie. About 60 mins late will do.
Deaths: My attention span.
Hotties: Women may like the big muscley black man. But that's not my bag, baby.

Highlight: The fight at the end was quite entertaining. People will like the standard training montage, but it's not as good as in the other movies.
Lowlight: Basically it's a really really good 40mins long movie about a fight. But everything that happens before they get in the ring is boring and not needed.
Score: Better than Date Movie.
An actual score please: 5.95/10

Title: Blood Diamond
Genre: Action/Drama/Thriller
Good actors: Leonardo Di Caprio, Djimon Hounsou
Products Placements: Diamonds.
Minutes too long: Probably one or two but nothing major.
Deaths: Millions of Africans.
Attractive males: Leonardo Di Caprio
Attractive females: Jennifer Connelly
Pervs in the audience: You're sh*t outta luck.
Highlight: Tough call. I don't think there was one, particularly.
Lowlight: Ditto the above.
Best Quote: "I am.. de.. camera..man"

Rating: 8 diamonds out of 10. Excellent acting from the two guys mentioned above, and a brilliant storyline to boot. Very important basis behind the film, well scripted, and worthy of some awards for sure.

Best Quote: “Some people, just a handful, mind you, give off the tiniest colour - like a haze - it's all I ever see in the darkness”.
Highlight: All the characters and story are really deep and complicated and important. It is really pretty and peaceful. Also, the secret twist is really surprising and smart.
Lowlight: It is pretty slow, sometimes, but it is sort of helpful to explain everything and also develop everything properly; it is like a book, I think.
Score: 9 secret floorboards out of 10.

Title: Blood Diamond.
Genre: Action.
Good actors: Leonardo Dicaprio. Also Donatello and Raphiel have minor parts. Michelangelo's agent forgot to tell him about the movie so he isn't in it.
Products Placements: Diamonds. And blood.
Minutes too long: None.
Deaths: Yes.
Attractive males: That dishy Dicaprio fella.
Attractive females: I didn't think she was. The main female, I mean.
Best Quote: “Let's just hope they don't discover oil here. Then we'd have real problems”.
Highlight: Supprisingly brilliant. ie: Not your average action crap
Lowlight:
Score: 8.9 bloody diamonds out of 10

Crumbs, when has this thread been here since?

Title: Hot Fuzz
Genre: Action.
Basic Plot: Cop is so good at his job that he gets chucked out to work in a country town where apparently nothing goes on, but he uncovers some shady goings on and generally kicks a*s.
Good actors: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost.
Products Placements: Somerfield and Dolmio.
Minutes too long: Too short, if you ask me.
Deaths: Only about 5 actual onscreen deaths.
Hotties: Simon Pegg.
Pervs in the audience: None that I know of; i was too busy watching.
Best Quote: "What did you say after you killed him? Man, you really should've said 'chill out'!" or something to that effect.
Highlight: I won't spoil it, but the beginning moment of the final half-hour kickassathon. The kick. You know the one if you've seen it.
Lowlight: The slightly dodgy ending bits.
Score: Anything less than 10 would be sacrilege.
See here.

You stopped watching 24 halfway through the 3rd season and thus I no longer could watch it either cause you wouldn't record it for me. You refused on the basis that it was crap, if memory serves.

Although I do agree with your review of The Blues Brothers.

Title: 16 Blocks.
Genre: Good cop/Bad cop/Bad cop/Bad cop/Bad cop/Bad cop/Bad cop.
Good actors: Bruce Willis, although his performance is dissapointing. Let it also be known that I just accidentally typed Will Smith, which amuses me. Bruce Willis aint black, fool.
Products Placements: None that I saw.
Minutes too long: Ten or so.
Deaths: Yes.
Attractive males: No.
Attractive females: No.
Highlight: The bus going crashhhhhhhhhhhhh?
Lowlight: Every 'twist' was either really predictable or badly delivered. Bruce Willis looked like he couldn't be bothered to act. The camera lingered too long after the first shot was fired and it looked like a cringeworthy Matrix excerpt.
Score: 5 drunk old men out of 10.

Go See It?
If you're a die hard Bruce Willis fan (HOMG LOLZ!) then go see it, if not you're not missing out
