I'm saying this part to rhyme with yours, Leah.

(I can't tell where the idea is, with the posts being so thick and fast. Mainly thick)

See! Someone beat me to it and spoiled my rhyme!

But be prepared to be roundly secretly ridiculed by those of us on that board.

You're A. Publically admitting to having a problem with B leads to C having a problem with you. D and E won't stand for that, and what does that spell?

hmmm... you are arguing about modding a board to ensure there are no arguments on it

I didn't think it would be a bitching thing- I thought it would just be a board that you had to be a member to see, so curious family, friends, partners, stalkers etc couldn't read as they aren't part of the site- or a board where we could swear away to you hearts content with no filters.

Thinking about it, though- I don't really see the point any more- we may as well just make the whole site closed off to non members if we are going to do that- but then how would we get new members... new thread idea!

anyway, what was I saying? oh yeah, i think a bard that is there specifically for members to be rude about each other- if thats what we are talking about- will be a bad idea. It'll be a few members being horrific about some others because they think they are supposed to, and they could easily just say "if you get offended its YOUR FAULT FOR SIGNING UP!"

Anyone remember brutally honest?

I think Mark speaks the truth. In fairness, when have any of us actually held back what we want to say. I've been called a c*nt several times today, which is certainly nothing unusual. Then I came on here and was called a c*nt again. Lets face it, would any of us start tearing into each other even if given the opportunity? I wouldnt. Not because I like you all, you're all c*nts to be honest. but as c*nts go, you guys are alright

I have no problems with a relaxed board, and it WOULD be nice to type  a message bout someone I know (who knows vaguely of VR) without fearing they will google their name and find it.

Just as long as its NOT brutally honest, where people are brutal for brutal's sake.

And no swear filter would be okay- though note life changing. Anyone remember the short lived (I think it lasted one whole day) system of Swearing Sundays?

We should have a board that only bots can post in but we can read!!

Example:

Quote: Jailer
So, the holidays is getting closer and I'm sure some of you are getting in the mood for the holidays.  If you are then  you might be thinking of sending people some great stuff like some greetings.  Well, I thought you might want to use something new and fun just like this christmas greeting maker.  It's quite neat and fun.

I was emailed this today from a friend and I was just blown away after reading the emotional comments to the vid. This is real life and what this guy did is just unbelievable considering he filmed this all himself and took 9 months to do it. And at first I didn't understand what he was doing moving all these things around but the mystery quickly unfolded and when I saw him jump off the cliff I gasped and was like OHHH MYYY GAWWDD!

Here is the link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iIYRZWBd9Y

What do you think? Will he beat the odds? I mean this is a true life real life story! The message at the end is so true too.

Quote: Jailer
Erm, What do you think you're doing? This is my thread

Quote: PowerGirl
Well, I just though people might be interested. Besides, Christmas is SO last year

Quote: Jailer
Irregardless, I think people might still be interested. A lot of people get their cards pretty early

Quote: PowerGirl
You do this all the time. Nearly every forum we spam, you give out to me just for trying to show these people interesting, informative links

Quote: Jailer
Yeah? Well YOUR MAMMA-board

Agreed! Although I'm not sure how many people would Want to know the held back interesting stuff...

This. I wouldn't call it interesting per se, as people have different definitions of what that might be, but I certainly hold quite a bit back.

For years now i've known that one day I intend on running for a position of high ranking within the RAF, so some personal things are definitely left out. Don't get me wrong, i've posted personal things before and will do again, but merely surface scratchers.

That has been my view for some time...I've had a lot of arguments on here, but I get over them because I know it's only the internet and there's no point p*ssing about hating someone you're never likely to meet. Case in point would be Joel, but unfortunately we keep forgetting that it's only the internet and arguing again. It's a VR tradition.

Yeah but deep down you love me really.

The idea of something like Brutally Honest returning comes round every three months pretty much like clockwork, as much as I like it it's never gonna happen. I guarantee someone would kick up a fuss about an opt in board too, because certain people just like to kick up fusses. Although it is a decent idea.
