The Travesty Known As Busted

I'm sorry to open up this whole sordid affair but after seeing them murder one of the greatest songs of all time by one of the greatest bands of all time, Teenage Kicks by the Undertones, I had to vent my anger.

Each member took it in turns to "sing" a verse from the song. Next time I see them, not taht I have seen them before, thank God, I will poke him with my novelty spoon.

Bob Geldof's Underwear

The genre is stupid

I took my daughter to see The Superhero Movie and, as well as being funny, it made me realise how stupid the superhero genre is. If people get exposed to radiation they die, they don't get super powers. Shaun Morris, Southampton Shaun Morris, Southampton

Cucumber

It's common knowledge that a cucumber is about 95% water. So what would happen if you only consumed 19/20ths of it? Would you be drinking the cucumber, or eating the water?

Or would you have entered the limbo realm of partly-digested vegetables?

These suck

The worst superhero films are Superhero IV, Batman and Robin, Captain America (1990), X-Men 3, Spawn and Daredevil. Also, why are films on channels 1-5 so bad these days? The late film last Sunday on BBC2, The Wraith, was terrible. Paul, Stockton

A rave for Dark Knight

Loved The Dark Knight. The last time I enjoyed the cinema that much was nearly 20 years ago when I saw Batman Returns. The original two Tim Burton films, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight would make a nice boxset. C Burns, Norwich

Beautiful Life

It occurred to me while I was planting a tree in a certain forest I know of, that people don't understand the beauty that surrounds us. Nature needs our help.

The Briggie/ Busted Conspiracy

I believe Briggie has a strange fetish for Busted.

Perhaps it's the impressive eyebrows or the way they jump about on stage like a trio of young kangaroos. Or perhaps he likes nothing more than jumping around the living room playing air guitar to Sleeping With The Light On.

The first film I saw at the cinema was Care Bears: The Movie. I fell asleep at some point, so I missed most of it. I did get to take home a free Care Bears goody bag though. Is an Oscar deserved?

Heath Ledger to win an Oscar. Why? His performance as the Joker is nothing special or new. If we change the rules then how far will it go?

Other dead actors that deserve an Oscar are Christopher Reeve (Remains of The Day), elvis presley (flaming star) and Brandon Lee (The Crow), which was copied by Ledger. Elvey, London

Superman super

The best superhero film has to be Superman The Movie for its script, cast and epic scale. The Dark Knight was a triumph over every director who employs CGI over good old-fashioned stuntwork and set building. Did anyone find the opening bank robbery a homage to Heat? Nick, Wallington

Giants

Being a giant would be cool as not only are you big, but you can also pretend you're even bigger like the uber-giants. Uber-giants are good as they can beat up the normal giants if they pick on basketball players of Andre The Giant (not a real giant, by the way).

However, no-one has the relevant height to stop the uber-giants picking the normal giants, but this is the way of the world.

Who cares about Batman?

Am I the only one unexcited by Batman? As far as I'm concerned, it's just a bloke in a rubber suit mucking around in a city. He's got no powers, and is supposed to be a superhero. I don't see the appeal. Lev821, Durham

Worst superhero film ever? It has to be Supergirl. Whatever happened to Helen Slater anyway? Barry, Walton, Liverpool

Superman is the best

The best superhero film has to be Superman and the worst has to be Superman IV: The Quest For Peace.

But I think if the Batman series continues to sustain the high quality it will take over Superman. What's your favourite franchise of a film ever? Mine has to be Star Trek. Martin, Thornaby on Tees

Support For Queen of The Elbow's Plan

I'll certainly join the campaign to get rid of Burberry. I'll propose a Private Member's Bill in the Commons. That would give me something to do rather than have tea with Tony, Gordon and Jack.

What about switching to hot choc and custard creams?

Brandon was overlooked

I agree with Elvey. Brandon Lee's performance in The Crow was breathtaking, and he didn't receive an Oscar, why give one to Heath Ledger, whose performance as The Joker was average? Darren, Clackmannan

Can anyone tell me the name of the film starring Susan Sarandon as an older woman in a relationship with James Spader which leads to family prejudice? Would love to see it again. Samantha, Manchester

Wouldn't It Be Great If...

1) Birds had no wings but cats did.
2) The world was a Rubik's Cube and a God-like hand appeared occasionally to change things round.
3) You could take photos through your eyes and print them through your mouth.
4) Birmingham had a nice beach.
5) The A-Team ran the country.

Zaganza

If the A-Team ran the country Mr T would make us all wear medallions!

Zodiac scores

The best film I have seen in the 21st century is Zodiac. Superb story, great performances and terrific suspense. I was hooked from start to finish,a great (and rare) modern film.

The best animated films are Ffantasia and The Snowman, and the bset comic book adaptation is Iron Man. C, Bristol

Woo Hoo!

Got my T in the Park tickets ordered, and the Pixies have confirmed.

As for your shameful Darkness bashing, they're playing as well, and I will be seeing them too.

The Darkness rock, WLW, accept it!

The 'Zine Superhero

It's good The Darkness are on... Festival loo queues are long.

Suitable for all

J Singh: originally you said you hated Close Encounters, now you say you like it. And surely if aliens did show themselves in real life, many people of all cultures all over the world would treat it as a religious experience? TP, Wrexham

Why are C4 showing the horror comedy Re-Animator at 2.50 on Tuesday morning and overrated rubbish like Cabin Fever on Saturday night at 10? James, Harlow

I believe

I like to believe that I am from the psychedelic years. Even though it is a lie it is what I believe and tell the people who talk to me and I believe that they believe me.

I just hope no-one I know reads this message for they might not believe me any more.

The Psychedelic Tree Planter

If you are always so cryptic they won't have a clue.
