Cardigans - 23rd April

I'm going to see them too. They're ace.

I've just discovered that The Divine Comedy are playing in Manchester next month. Woohoo!! So I'm going to get a ticket for that and tick them off the list of artists I really want to see.

And I'm just going to get one ticket - I've given up trying to find people to go to gigs with because I'm sick of begging asking everyone I know.
Now that we're here we may as well go too far.

Is her stuff away from Rilo Kiley and good? i saw the album for sale, but was sceptical.

It's not quite as engaging as the Rilo Kiley stuff but it's still very good. There's a slower pace to the songs and more of a country feel, more akin to the likes of 'The Absence of God' than 'Portions For Foxes' on 'More Adventurous'. And there is a distinct lack of Sennet's guitar intricacies. Her voice is still wonderful though, and The Watson Twins are even more angelic when they join in.

Incidentally, Johnathan Rice was supporting, which was a very pleasant surprise.

Bon Jovi and Nickelback on June 4th in Manchester

I've really wanted to see Bon Jovi for ages. Nickelback are supporting, which makes it even better.

I like an escalator because an escalator can never break, it can only become stairs. There would never be an "Escalator temporarily out of order" sign, only an "Escalator temporarily stairs. Sorry for the convenience."

My last gig was The Kaiser Chiefs on friday 21st at Alexandra Palace. I hate them so much. I still do actually. In fact I hate them even more now because they kept me waiting for 45 minutes after Graham Coxon went off stage (he was lovely and I love him and his nerdy glasses.) The one thing that kept from following through with my friend's plan to throw a brick at them (apart from the fact that I can't actually pick up a brick and throw it) was that i won the tickets rather than paid for them. And X FM did play my song AND give me the tickets so I had to go out of goodwill and respect for my accidental winnings. I've never won anything accidently before.

Coxon supporting the Kaiser Chiefs? Something wrong with that picture. Especially as KC appear to be Blur circa 1993 tribute band. Coxon's new album is splendid, buy it. I digress.

It won't be my next gig, but I'm going to Roskilde. Oh yay. Which means I don't have any money now for other gigs, so Gomez on the 12th June is likely to be the next one.

Right so Keith Richards fell out of a tree and I'm not entirely sure if the gig is going ahead or not. And what is infinitely worse is no-one in the entire world knows either, apparantly. If they cancel this gig there's going to be a lot of p*ssed off people, as nine days is ridiculous short notice.

Not wrong. Shockingly late decision, although as it works out, it'll be better to go in July, so I'm not too bothered.
