I always wanted to write a book about a dystopian future when social media runs the world, but Dave Eggers has done it for me. Check out The Circle to see what I mean. His vision is pretty much the same one that I have, and it ain't pretty. I kinda accept that it has its uses for keeping in touch with people, but in a wider sense I find it really sinister for all sorts of reasons. It also feeds on insecurity one one hand, and ego on the other, which I don't think is healthy for anyone. It's here to stay though, so I spose I'll just have to keep ignoring it!
