I suspect I've said this on more than one occasion, but that really is one of the best books you're ever likely to read. Sirens of Titan is good too but it ain't in the same league.

It's definitely one I'm going to have to reread as I don't think I fully took it in.

The Sleeper Awakes - H.G. Wells.
Big Sur - Jack Kerouac.
Naked Lunch - William Burroughs.
I, Robot - Isaac Asimov.
Life After God - Douglas Coupland.
The Beach - Alex Garland.
Lord Of The Flies - William Golding.
Foucault's Pendulum - Umberto Eco.
Skulduggery Pleasant - Derek Landy.
What can I say? I did it all for the Wookies.

Sister of the Road by Boxcar Bertha.

Been meaning to buy this for years. Autobiograhpy of a female hobo from back in the olden days. Should be an interesting counterpoint to a lot of the other books I've read on the subject, which are predominantly (exclusively, really) written by men.

Scorsese did an exploitation film based on her life for Roger Corman at the start of his career. I hear it veers wildly off book.

Great books!

They are so dark and bleak! But really intriguing and absorbing too!
