I've returned. Again!

Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder, as they say; but you can all kick back and relax, just like Korn. I'm "here to stay," haha. I've started a new job, so I can't waste my days away writing to Zine as much as I used to. But I see One Winged Angel is keeping the nonsense factor. Well done!
Fluffy The Evil One

You've become the Sharon Watts of the Zine with all these comebacks.

Heroes name-checked

Two DC superheroes who lent their names to movies that were nothing to do with them are Starman and Karate Kid. Other 1960s DC comics that have influenced popular movies and TV include Dial "H" For Hero, (Ben 10), Metal Men (Transformers) and Challengers of The Unknown (Ghostbusters). Chris, Welwyn

Is anyone disappointed with Film4's Halloween schedule? Why not an all night horror-thon of rare treats- a missed opportunity. TR, Suss*x

PM kilt incident

I'm worried about the PM. He spoke recently in Edinburgh but was unfortunately wearing a kilt. A sharp wind picked up and revealed his nether regions. Four women fainted and a six-year-old was taken to hospital. I believe I may be scarred for life. At the next election, I believe I'll vote Conservative. Unless Cameron decides to wear a kilt too.
Earl James Junior Jones

Thanks for that mental image.

Star Wars' image sells it

Ryan- The look of Star Wars 4-6 helps sell the story; 1-3 is the end of a golden age in which everything is big, shiny and new. In 4-6 the empire has drained the money and everything is small, old and used, even the droids look worse for wear. However, the Princess Leia remembering her mother thing needs to be fixed. Ryan, Cupar

Mark- These could be in your marathon: Near Dark, 30 Days of Night, Nosferatu and The Vampyr. Mark, Midstone

Rentals started well but...

First video rentals: we saw The Long Good Friday and Assault On Precinct 13 back to to back. It's been downhill since then. Weirdest movie: I watched Abre Los Ojos, the Spanish movie on which Vanilla Sky was based, when I was dosed up on aspirin and rum. Now that was weird. Nicko, Derby

As my DVD collection is of US martial arts/ action B-movies, I have almost completed it with about 300 films. John, Darlington

Gosh, that Miss Whiskers seriously needs a brain check. Sorry, name check! Or was I right the first time? * Adopts Geordie accent * Who knows? YOU decide.
Mondo Ray

Heart-warming. I love how you all take any opportunity to embrace your fellow Ziners.

Sci-fi unknowns worth a look?

Which directors are neglected? Byron Haskin's sci-fi films are worth checking out: the first bit of Robinson Crusoe On Mars is great. Ger, Omagh

Just because a movie makes a lot of money doesn't mean it's any good. Phantom Menace is poor. Jim, Halesowen

Bonjour mes amis

Je suis arrive dans Kernow. I've told Grumpy G*t that if he listened to LWW (London Weekend Wireless) he would realise just how passe agranams are. Like, soooo nineties, girl!
Almost Famous @ Mondo Mansion

"Agranams"? Is that some clever anagram pun?

Thought not.

Reclaimed soul is in briefcase? Dingo- The briefcase in Pulp Fiction may contain Marsellus Wallace's soul which he had managed to reclaim from the decil. The case combination is 66 and Wallace wore a plaster on the back of his neck, from where the devil is supposed to extract a soul which is sold to him. Tony, Salisbury

A hidden gem I watch regularly is Judgement Night. Great entertainment from start to finish with good programmes. Sniper, Sheffield

The Vagabond returns

Wre it not for music piracy, my dear cousin Grey Owl would still be alive. Not all bad, though; because, now I'm chief, I dish out the money. Needless to say, I keep most and am disgustingly rich. I'm too good for Zine now, but I was touched by Donny's Angel's query. I've been in my homeland getting things disorganised. Maybe I'll write occasionally now it's all achieved and Grey Owl's gone and forgotten (yippee).

What 1980s film has a guy who fires electricity out of his hands while singing Johnny B Goode? Jason, Kinmel Bay

Emo sheep

I'd love to see the emo sheep in the fields but only if I could see the Western kids who are scarily obsessed about Japan in the neighbouring field. Promptly followed by fish and finger pizza on the veranda.

Dead Reckoning: great film overlooked

If you like film noir and Bogart, give the overlooked but excellent Dead Reckoning a look. Great story and perfectly paced. Saxmundham

I think Princess Leia is remembering her adopted mother on Aldernaan. PS. Will Vortex start its own site when Teletext shuts down? Rosie, Andover

Jocks Trap I'm starting to think Mondo Ray is the new Fluffy The Evil One. Although I'm only thinking.

Can I just say, the lack of apostrophes in your name troubles me.

Earnies Rubber Duck How good would I look with wings of steel, just like Batfink?

I'd wager not as good as you'd look with the right spelling and an apostrophe.
