A little rudeness

I am still fascinated by the mysteries that are in Daddypoos's fridge. What we need to do is join forces and sort out Mondo Ray. In my opinion, we don't devote enough research to finding a cure for jerks. Violence, however, is pretty good to start on.
Princess Psycho

Spotting Natalie Appleton while I was on the daily commute home the other night made me revisit my All Saints albums, particularly Saints And Sinners and the vastly underrated Studio 1. The luscious, dreamlike Black Coffee and Pure Shores, coupled with production by William Orbit and Greg Kurstin reminded me just how much I want a new album. New Rave Snail

After eight years of disappointing solo efforts and other low-key endeavours, I was expecting Skunk Anansie's comeback single to be something of a non-event. Because of You is a glorious, soaring, sing your heart out anthem, the likes of which I've not heard in some time, and that fills me with utter joy. Welcome back. Liquid Diner

I'm not surprised The Verve's comeback album struggled. It was always going to be hard topping Urban Hymns. Matthew

People are quick to denigrate Madonna for being over the hill, and an embarrassment who doesn't act her age. So it's funny that Steven Tyler falling from a stage has been overlooked, with nobody questioning why someone who is 61, looks like Chrissie Hynde and is still tottering around in leather pants singing Love in an Elevator. Where's The Chainsaw?

So me and Daddypoos can't use violence to sort out Mondo Ray. It does rather reduce the options. I mean, it's not as if we were going to give him a lobotomy with a rusty saw. I would have oiled it first. Now, let's talk about ice cream- Vanilla or chocolate?

Earls' wish for Bob Dylan to cover Last Christmas reminds me of one of my favourite unexpected TV moments, when James Dean Bradfield did an acoustic version on TFI Friday. My cousin went to the optician's last week. I met him afterwards. He told me he paid £600 for an eye test. I tell you, they saw him coming...

The Blade Runner backlash

Sam, Dewsbury- Blade Runner improves with multiple viewings. It has a haunting quality, and the most plausible vision of a future run by big corporations ever seen. It's a masterpiece of the type Judge Dredd could only dream of being. Kit, Acton

Sam, Dewsbury- Blade Runner is superior because of the cinematography that was years ahead of its time. It had characters with meaning, internal logic and intelligence. A, Polegate

The ire of a Princess

Me, a fridge fetishist? I think it's just the most interesting thing of Zine has to be Daddypoos's fridge. Especially if it has ice cream in it. I'll inspect it, he can inspect my pit of rabid mutant weasels. As for Mondo Ray, his life would seem more interesting with a musical score and a laugh track.

Don't reform unless you mean it

The Big One

I just discovered the Zine. It seems like a good place to ask a question that has been bugging for years. You know the phrase "Wait one cotton-picking moment?" well, exactly how long is a "cotton-picking moment"? Is it longer than a non-cotton-picking moment? It was my understanding that moments were generally the same length.

Stop pigeon-holing metal as racist

Why is that the only movies to feature hardcore metal on their soundtracks are ones about neo-Nazis? Smokin' Aces, American History X and Higher Learning all fall into this trap.

It gives the impression that the extreme metal genre is full of far-right bands like Skrewdriver. People outside the scene should remember it has anti-fascist bands too, like Soulfly and Napalm Death. Rich Barrett

What a load of tosh

Why is it on Zine you get people talking a load of tosh, like the Wicked Witch of Where talking about fat children? I know anything goes, but it is a load of random tosh.
Jamurtoast

I'll have you know Zine was built on random tosh.

Favourite Winona Ryder movie

I am looking forward to Winona Ryder's new film The Informers this summer. It's based on a Bret Easton Ellis novel of the same name. It made me wonder what are other texters' favourite Winona Ryder movies? Chris, Stockport

The ex-tractor

It's because I'm always drunk that I fell off the tractor in the first place. Now I'm the ex-tractor fan they're trying to repair. Do I have a "B'dum-dum-t'sh"?

Your views on Tarantino

I watched Inglourious B*sterds last night and good news- Quentin Tarantino's latest is glorious. DeckyStrikesBack, Co Fermanagh

History will show Tarantino as a two-hit wonder and after Pulp Fiction his films were vanity projects. Rich, Romford

Jim, Basingstoke- I couldn't agree more. Statham is to acting what Pol Pot is to kindness. Shawn, Washington

Check mate

Jamurtoast is Mondo Ray in disguise. He checks off all the boxes for getting on Zine quick:
1. Is a newbie
2. Is having a moan
3. Sucks up to WLW
Yeah, definitely Mondo.
One Winged Angel

OWA, you're not point 1, I'll give you that. But you've perfected point 2 and could definitely learn from point 3.

Cinema's most moving moment

Most affecting and emotional moments in recent film include the last few moments of Field of Dreams and Robert De Niro gradually reverting to his previous condition in Awakenings. I was in tears at both. Craig, Kilmarnock

Here's a gem. Thursday. Thomas Jane. Anyone seen it? Is that a hard 'un? Jarvis, Killyleagh

Is Chucky from Child's Play based on wee Jimmy Krankie? Jade, Derbyshire

What a howler

Oh my goodness. It is really terrible. I have been bitten by a werewolf. I was walking in the Spooky Woods, moonlight splintered through the trees, casting crooked shadows across the path. I am really scared I will be a horrible monster. I can feel darkness and shadows, horror and grumpiness, inside me, flickering behind my eyes, bleeding into my mind, waiting for the full moon. I am so scared. Please help me!

Blade Runner debate continues

Sam, Dewsbury- When I went to the premiere of Blade Runner in 1982 it blew me away. One of the finest films ever made and yours are the first words I've ever heard against it. Mondo, Kernow

Sam- I agree. Blade Runner bores me to death. Ridley Scott is very overrated although Gladiator was fantastic and Hannibal. Yeah I loved John Quade in the Every Which Way films as the leader of the black widows. Mark, Neath

Dracula problems

How does Dracula put on make-up?
He can't.
That's not a joke. He can't.
He doesn't have a reflection, so can't use a mirror. That, in turn, ruins his Rocky Horror Hallowe'en Party. That's what the Transylvanians do. Don't know why.
Sweeper 128 (BOO!)

Too obvious to say that letter sucked?

Who's the greatest black actor?

David, Barnsley- Eddie Murphy "greatest black actor ever"- what about Denzel Washington? One of the greatest actors of his generation. As for comedy actors- Richard Pryor. Jamie, Merstham

Is anyone else looking forward to Avatar, James Cameron's new project? Though I hated Titanic, I love his other body of work. Can't wait. Eamonn, Liverpool
