The Horror

With the remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, I was wondering who would be your ideal cast?

Mine would be David Tennant for Frank N Furter, John Barrowman as Brad.

Gothic Fairy

I'm only surprised you didn't want Tennant in all the roles.

Noobs out on page 3

The Mad Scheduler Like Princess, I have murderous thoughts about the cast of High School Musical but I wouldn't turn them into food, I'd Dexterise them.

As you wish. But, please spare The Zac and his ever-expanding guns.

Zacky Gates KAT eats STU, MO DARNsmELLS, SARA uses NICOleREX to quit, WHO GOES... who cares. You did say subtle, witty, clever, me old chum.

I did. And you weren't.

The best live album is The S*x Pistols' Live At Winterland, recorded the night before they split up. Johnny Rotten makes no attempt to hide his contempt for absolutely everyone in the room, especially for the rest of the band.

It culminates in him groaning "Oh, b*****ks, why should I carry on?" in the middle of their ironic closing song No Fun. "Ah ha ha, ever get the feeling you've been cheated?" It's the ideal Christmas gift. Marcus McLean

Not armed and dangerous

Here's some embarrassing things I've said to a work colleague.

- You need a hand with that?
- Oh, special scissors. I didn't know you were left handed.
- You have all the luck.

He only has one arm. Luckily, he didn't lose his sense of humour.

YeahYeahYeah

All sounds pretty 'armless.

Beep

I once had a hearing test. Every time the doctor pressed the button to make the noise, it made a clinking sound right before it made the beep noise. She said I had the best hearing she'd ever seen, which was a sentence I found humorous. Like "Barry bounces brown balls between cats". Hehe. Cats.

The bottom of it

I've worked it out. There is more than one giraffe editing these letters. Sometimes it's on the bottom (not that I object to my "name" being on my bottom). I've won prizes for my bottom. Cute and clenched spring to mind. Hands up all those with a nice bottom. Not you, Mondo. The pimples put you off.

Daddypoos (Al Sation)

No, I'm not going to do some crude top/ bottom pun.

If Ziners were pilchards

Mondo Ray would be a pilchard.
Princess Psycho would be a pilchard.
Plughole Fantasy would be a pilchard.
Daddypoos would be a pilchard.
WLW would be a pilchard.

My first attempt at a list in nine years of writing to Zine; I don't think I'm very good at lists.

The Psychedelic Gloom

Maybe add a couple of * meows * next time. And the name "Argyle".

Top 10 singles of 2008

16) VV BROWN Crying Blood

Previously awriter for Sugababes and Pussycat Dolls, Brown is showing a fine personality of her own. This, all heartbreak lyrics, set to the dizzying fun Amy Winehouse used to have, is typical of her inventive modern pop.

15) TRAVIS J Smith

A deliciously barking rock opera to launch their label, this was as far from cute everyman pop as possible, yet still with a superb melodic ear.

1/4.

New singles out this week

DEL MARQUIS Hothouse 8/10

With Scissor Sisters having a break, guitarist Marquis offers a surprising diversion, lead song Remember Me Young is a ballad that would belong on ABC's Lexicon of Love, and he has a strong luxurious croon to go with it. Worth a look, even if you're not a Sisters fan.

LA ROUX Quicksand 7/10

The young Brixtonite offers a strong sense of OTT '80s synthpop, not afraid to be ridiculous. A promising start.

2/4.
