Fincher making of impressive

Anyone with a Blu-Ray player should buy The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Although I'm a fan of Fincher's work, it's not his best. There is, however, an excellent three-hour "making of" on disc two that'd more entertaining than the main feature. Rich, Aylesbury

Is the golosh you mention any relation to the rubber overshoe called a galosh?

It's either that or a spicy Hungarian stew made with beef, peppers, onions and paprika powder.

Where to find a hip hop DJ

There's still plenty of DJing going on in hip hop if you look in the right places. Black Milk, Blaq Poet and Elzhi have plenty of scratching and cutting on their songs. Simon Farrow

The live DJ was disconnected from hip hop and replaced by DAT machines in the so-called golden age. Turntablism evolved to remedy this, but it's not the same. You rarely hear scratching now, unless Pete Rock or Premier are involved. Rob Element

Muse for album of the year

Any talk of album of the year so far is is premature because, if the little snippet I've heard is as good as the rest, then Muse will blow every other contender away. Dante Banks

I often find death metal too technical, lacking in hooks and real songs. But I've only just discivered Six Feet Under's Dead Rituals and I love their catchy yet utterly brutal groove. Can Voiders recommend other acts with a similar groove? leeds Seb

Farewell to Little Man Tate

Little Man Tate split at an apt time, after the discussion of the death of the B-side, as they were one of the finest purveyors of the art.

A superb live band, it's a pity their debut album had so much filler songs as good as Hello, Miss Lovely and Teenager were left off. The second album was near-perfect, and it's a sad indictment of the industry that they didn't make it past album two. I'll be at their Sheffield farewell gig. Foz

Who wants inferior downloads?

An inherent disadvantage of downloads is that MP3s strip out some of the audio content as a result of compression. As a hi-fi enthusiast who has spent a lot on my sound system, I only ever buy CDs to enjoy the full audio spectrum in that format.

I never buy downloads, unlewss they're free from DRM and lossless. I'd rather go without that be forced to accept the inferior quality that record labels force on us. Audiophiler

Velociraptors

Well, I am back from the Cretaceous Period. I was going to bag some velociraptors and learned some valuable lessons.

Firstly, never use 51st century nukealot to bag them; shooting a velociraptor with a high yield tactical nuke doesn't leave much (it is rather overdone too).

Still, I did manage to get rid of that 180km crater.

I take it you don't want nummy muffins. At the picnic, I was going to bring a nice chilled bottle of Mead too. The Voider who claimed Oceans was a great lost track on Suede's A New Morning may be interested to know it was one of the tracks Brett performed live as part of his stunning two hour set in leeds last night.

A remarkable talent. Just two people on stage all night playing ballads may sound like tosh but it was blistering. Especially with an encore of Stay Together, Saturday Night and Trash.

I'm on my way to stake out Paula Kerr's gaffe! I've got to get hold of the world's rarest Oasis album. Unbelievable. Sam

I grew up with Gigli, Caruso, Jo Locke, Little Richard, The Beatles, Dylan, Cohen, deep breath, Waterboys, REM, eminem, Roots Manuva and somewhere along the way Reggae, Blues, Folk, Punk and Classical. How boring to read the snobbish rants on these pages. It's music; love it or go away. mondo

Carla Robinson, well said. I bought the new Kings of Leon album and think it's fantastic. Well done to the four talented and, might I add, strange looking young men! However, I disagree with your best live band comment and recommend you see Muse if you get the chance. They are amazing live! citizen erased

Just to say how great it is to have Boyzone back. Their new single, Love You Anyway, is fantastic. Denise

In a couple of months the Christmas number one single will be by the act who won X Factor. Do we, the British public, deserve to be tortured like this? Even this far ahead I can safely say I'd rather eat simon cowell's socks than buy the winner's single. Having said that, Leona Lewis is an exceptional talent. Crazy Mother

The only good thing about Basshunter is the gorgeous girl in the videos. Steve Carter
