Sparki Dee Fluffy Bunny, have you ever tried spider racing? First to the end of the bath gets their own website. Loser gets sucked up the hoover.

But surely the winner will simply escape down the plughole?

Matth Stil Anything goes indeed! The amount of messages written in invisible ink aired on Friday's Zine!

Did you not press reveal?

Horror films make the audition

Sammie- I couldn't agree more. The Japanese really know how to make a good horror and Death Note is one of my fave films. If you haven't already, watch Audition. Christine, Hartlepool

My favourite monsters are critters, gremlins, ghoulies and those out of From Beyond. I like most monsters that are not CGI. Tim, London

scarface faces more criticism

Shawn, washington- For me, scarface is hugely overrated but not rubbish. People try to sound cool by claiming it's their favourite film. That or they are easily pleased. It does not come close to the godfather or carlito's Way. Also, having read the Bond novels, as far as I am aware, Bond is 007's real name. Dan, Bournemouth

Matt- You mentioned a gem of a film with king of New York. A very violent, but excellent, film. Lance, Manchester

Haute Tension twist up

The only people I've read complain about Haute Tension's supposed twist ending are American, until I read Marc's comment. If you pay attention to the start the twist is established from the beginning. Wish I could say more, but don't want to spoil it for anyone. Watch it again. t rivers, suss*x

Olympic crackdown

I thought I'd drop by to see how Zine is settling into its fancy new home, with the stylised fonts and fanciness. I'm aware you've been there a while but I've been busy trainining butterflies. On browsing the pages; once again, I notice a distinct lack of the fantastic monochromatic creatures, penguins. Please rectify this.

Like 'em or loathe 'em, Deep Rising had a great tagline in "Full Scream Ahead" and Cobra has a double whammy of "Crime is a disease, meet the cure"/ "This is where the law stops and he starts". QT is always on the qt

Tarantino is a garrulous, voluble movie director and speaks with real fervour about film. So I can never fathom why he records audio commentaries for other directors' DVDs, but not his own.

The most recent QT commentary I heard was for kung fu flick King Boxer and he was very insightful. Like to hear him opin one Grindhouse and Kill Bill. Rich, Aylesbury

The reason why people sneer at Madonna's earthquake aid is that $50, 000 is peanuts, bearing in mind his wealth. She has tight control over what she chooses to keep private, for that reason alone, her donations can easily be considered a publicity stunt.

She spoke about her investment in an African school to offset the damage to her image after adopting David. Madonna is all about self, always has been, and her music is naff too. Attilathehood

Everyone remembers that day. Thousands gathered in Cornwall to witness a total eclipse of the world's largest ice cream cone.

Unfortunately, the historic event was overshadowed by the room eclipsing the sun on that very same day. Way to steal the thunder, cheeserock.

The Top 10 of MTV's The Greatest Album Ever (actually since 1981, when MTV began) was fairly predictable. Amy Winehouse, Arctic Monkeys' debut, Radiohead, U2, Nirvana, guns'n'roses, the first two Oasis albums... When it got down to the final three, I knew that Thriller would be No 1.

But who was at No 2? Craig David's Born To Do It! I nearly fell off my chair, and can only assume that Trevor Nelson rigged the votes. Pat Palloon

I'm a tad surprised at Earls giving 8/10 to Twisted Wheel's eponymous debut album. To call it rudimentary is an understatement and the lyrics are awful. It's 5/10 at best.

Why are Voiders getting excited about The Beatles remasters? I own them on '60s vinyl. That's how it was heard then, and always should be. You can't get that '60s authenticity from digital remastering. I won't be going near the remasters. Adrian Brockett

I've spent the last week considering what to do with my new-found superhero powers, when it struck me. I shall use them for evil! Why, you might ask. Well, for one, his hypnosis affects 60% of the population so I can brainwash them into worshipping me.

Superman update news

As a big Superman fan, I had to tell you Warner Bros do have plans for a darker Superman film but Wachowski isn't directing it (thank God), and no director yet. Tom Welling has said he doesn't want to play Superman in a film. Shame! Matt, Sc*nthorpe

Plan B

Unsuper Hero Since my attempts to bring about a Princess psycho and One Winged Angel fan club went bust, I say we all hold a ritual. Sacrificing lambs at dawn!

Are you sure you don't want another bash at that fan club?

Dead'N'Furious Oh, the horror! I've just discovered half a wasp in my leftover jam sandwich.

If it's half a jam sandwich, you can guess where the wasp's head has gone. Eow!

Dennehy is underrated

On the subject of underrated actors, I must add Brian Dennehy to the list. Chilling in To Catch a killer and great in First Blood. Any ideas as to what he's up to now? Mike, Grimsby

Vortex: Films coming up: Cat City, Every Day and Meet monica velour.

Underrated actor: Ryan Reynolds. I've just seen him in The Nines (great film) and can't wait for Wolverine. But does Vortex know where I can find Fireflies In The Garden? Please! Kellie, W-s-M

Blasts from the past

Oh WLW, pretending you can't remember me. How I laughed! But I thought, seeing as I have resurfaced, what happened to the oldies like Fluffy The evil One, Grey Wolf of Norbex, The Brigadier, etc.? Are they still knocking about? Loving that pink feather boa, WLW.

Little Kitten delinquent

Oh, the boa; yes, I still have that. Believe it or not, I remain in touch with The Brigadier.

Point about car pics

My favourite movie on four wheels is Vanishing Point. Criminally underused, Barry Newman, who also sat behind the wheel in the exhilarating Fear Is The Key, proves to be the perfect foil to his Dodge muscle car in a film of haunting anti-authoritarian intensity. t rivers, suss*x

I would love Steven Spielberg to direct a Bond film. He has always wanted to, I am sure he would take a pay cut to do it. Anon, Teesside

Unsung British stars

If you're into underrated actors, look no further than Britain's Mark Strong and Tom Hardy. Strong is making his mark in films like The Young victoria, Body of Lies, RocknRolla, Stardust, Sunshine, Syriana and upcoming Sherlock Holmes and Robin Hood. Hardy is making his long-awaited breakthrough in bronson. alice, leeds

Of course, the leaked Wolverine is "disappointing"! It's an unfinished version! Nichol, Sutherland

A cheery cheesy tale

Life is like a barrel of cheese.

It starts off all right.

It gets sloppy around the middle.

And then finally becomes mouldy at the end.

Life. (Sigh.)

Tree of Woe

That cheesy tale started well; but, after a while, it began to grate. In fact, it stank.

New freddy witless

The story of freddy in the Elm Street remake is different. No longer a killer of 20 kids let off on a technicality, and no wise cracking wit. He has little dialogue. Nancy is in it (and the bath scene). Robert Englund will cameo as a school doctor. Mark, Surrey

You give a Superman answer but then say info is readily available on the net. Not everyone has the net. R Nahid, Btm

Wanted

I think it's about time I got myself another rival. I've got an associate in Princess psycho; but, ever since Enigma left, my violent tendencies feel incomplete. I also want a sidekick because I want a motorbike with a sidecar. My sidekick should be weaker than me, not as cool as me, not as pretty as me and dress in colours I don't wear.

One Winged Angel

Mmm. I'm sure the Ziners will be kicking your door down for that role.
