If there are any sightings, please report to someone who cares immediately.

Ambiguous Snail

And what about the lovely NumberThree? Another Ziner who's gone AWOL.

The unromantic

Can anyone come up with any decent vampire movies that actually scare rather than portray vampires in a romantic light. I've just watched Let The Right One In, which is fantastic. Swan, Worcester

Tim, Wrexham- I don't think Barry Norman quit because of the state of modern cinema. If that was the case he could have quit in the '70s, '80s or '90s. I would prefer him to present it than Jonathan Ross. James, Teesside

Zine Rules

As of next week, Backchat is no more and the mighty Zine is triumphant!

It's quite sad actually, no longer can we mock the editor who prints anything even if it mentions Zine (or the Zine band, ahem). Please spare a minute for him. His wit never stood a chance against WLW's.

But for now, let's bask in the glory of being the victor after many a long year of bitter rivalry.

Enchanted Rose

We wish them well. I bet plenty of you guys secretly wrote in to them!

Weighed down

Is Victor Olliver suddenly Gillian McKeith? He is obsessed with overweight people and chastises them on virtually every page of his Couples Retreat review. I do not care what size characters are in films- just that they entertain me. I am sure of course Olliver is a catwalk model himself. RB, Hants

VO: Sometimes the unsaid needs to be said. If the film had large women, they'd have been the butt of jokes probably.

Ledger's number one

I agree that Brokeback Mountain and The Dark Knight are brilliant Heath Ledger films but for me Candy will always be number one. Samantha, Rotherham

I might be hated for this but I'm always disappointed by Heath Ledger's acting. Some of his movie choices were well scripted, but he can't carry the role as a lead male, nor a convincingly sympathetic character and I felt dissatisfaction at the end credits. Nina, London

Stumbling into greatness

To whoever referred to Legion's Last Patrol, I saw it in the cinema in the '60s. It's an Italian production (Marcia o Crepa) and the theme was a big hit in the UK for the Ken Thorne Orchestra.

It took cinema stumblingly forward (for me) to a more realistic depiction of the results of violence. In the early '60s, the sight of arterial pumping blood from a leg wound was revolutionary. Can't find it on DVD, but the poster is on Ebay for £75! Dave, Mansfield

Travelling without Money

I've not written in for a while. I've been trying to get some life experiences, but not getting very far.

What I have learned is that I'm not very good at getting my own way. So, I have decided to shut myself away, play the guitar until I bleeeeed. Then when I'm advanced, I'll be able to have all I desire. That said, I only want a cuddle and a trip to the cinema.

Attention Seeking

Right, from my research (and I have done plenty into this subject), I feel you should know this.

A very good way of attracting someone's attention is to strip off in public, and walk around naked. Alternatively, you can talk to imaginary people, sing to yourself loudly in the street, or steal a traffic light. The first and last may get you in trouble with the law.

elden ray

Celebs With Hippo Heads

Why have they done another series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here with Ant and or Dec?

I've given up on attempting to tell which one is which, but I think the one with the big head is Ant. It's the size of a hippo, that head.

Film 2009... with Mark Kermode?

I cannot watch Film 2009. The problem is Jonathan Ross kisses his guests' backsides on his Friday Night show, always saying "I've seen the movie and really enjoyed it" (even if he didn't), so can't then go and criticise it better.

Case in point, The Invention of Lying. No review, just a chat with his 'mate' Ricky. I would love Mark Kermode to have his own chat show instead. Andy, Chelmsford

WLW, you say you've never heard of someone stealing a traffic light. Well, I have.

Christmas Is Over

My magical operatives have found proof that an evil Christmas elf, known as Derek, is killing off Santa's reindeer.

1. Underneath Derek's bed, a red nose was found, with a fork in it.
2. A note to Santa was discovered, and enclosed was Dasher's desperate plea to stop Derek, as he was making hungry eyes and brandishing a sharpened fork.
3. Blitzen's hooves were found on the black market.

Surprisingly tender

Out of all the different genres to produce a tearjerker, torture p*rn would be the last you would expect. But, unbelievably, Pascal Laugier's Martyrs does just that. Not as visceral as splat pack classics but scary as h*ll, profoundly disturbing and yet also deeply touching and heartbreaking. It blends moods in a similar way to Funny Games but it is much more disressing. Martyrs is one of the hardest films to pigeonhole. Brilliant! Matt, Sc*nthorpe

Ambiguous Snail I can no longer hide my secret shame. I was a secret Backchatter. But my heart lies with Zine.

Out, out, out! Oh, OK, maybe not.

Dalek How many daleks does it take to change a lightbulb? None, we get our lackey Ziner servants to do it for us.

Plus, you have no arms.

Deshman I'm a celebrity... get me out of here? I would if I could find any.

Do you fancy eating witchetty grubs?

The Inspector's Call

So, it's some stupid time in the morning and I'm attacking my wradrobe, walls and tiles with a butter knife, trying to scrape off the bits of adhesive from that are obstinate and generally refusing to budge. And why? What's with this manic removal? Room inspections. Give me peace.

Mixed Me Up

Things I used to get mixed up:

- Hugh Grant and Richard E Grant.
- The Queen and Margaret Thatcher.
- Jonny Wilkinson and Jonathan Wilkes.
- Dolly Parton, Barbara Cartland and Barbra Streisand.

I had an interesting childhood.

Me and My Insania

Does Jonny carry a Wilkinson Sword? Am confused too.

Look Who's Stalking

On my way to school today, I had someone following me. He was two steps behind me and he proceeded to talk to me. He was not speaking but mouthing to me and was using his hand to express himself. It was as if we were in a conversation but he was scaring me.

Could this be Ed from Backchat trying to mug me because I am writing to Zine? Maybe we could poke him with sticks. Watch out for him.

Arnie The Barbarian

Matthew, Islandmagee- My favourite Arnie movie is Conan The Barbarian, which is underrated because of its awful sequel, Conan The Destroyer. Barbarian is a fantastic film with a great storyline, realistic fights, and stirring music. Jonny, Derby

Fridge Fun

I went in one of the kitchens in the halls at my uni. There were fridge magnets on the fridge saying words like "shopping" and "food" plus a few random letters that no-one had managed to form into words. I eventually made the phrases "dinkey bags", "we need more kitten pizza" and "who will milk my koala"?. I wonder if I'll ever meet the owner of that fridge.

The One With The Mighty Antlers

More importantly, let's hope you never meet her kitty- now a big cat.

Schwarzenegger debate...

Matthew, Islandmagee- My favourite Schwarzenegger film is terminator 2: Judgement Day. I think Kindergarten Cop is the cheesiest film he's ever starred in. A, Newcastle Upon Tyne

The best Arnie films are terminator 2 and Predator. Also, is there a new Jurassic Park film? Ray, Shrewsbury

The last time I cried at the cinema was when I wasted £6 on Halloween 2. Jim, Halesowen
