Ziners

Although we still don't know the point of having a full clock in Countdown, there are also many other occurances on daytime TV that need answering.

* On Ready Steady Cook, why does Ainsley ask the contestants how the food when they've barely put it in their mouths?
* Where does Anne Robinson get her desperate put downs from?
* Why are there no Fifteen To One contestants under the age of 65?
Wise Fruitcake

Why does Crossroads... well... why? 'Acting' at its very worst.

Or the Puppy Police. One or the other.

Flutterby Since the inevitable time has come, how do you eat your Creme Egg, WLW?

As quickly as possible, followed by another... and another.

Pink Mafia Hurrah for Channel 4. Black Books is being repeated. It is surely the finest sitcom ever produced by anyone... anywhere... ever!

Tooooo right!

Also, it may be a bit adventurous, but could you do a Dad's Army-themed pic?

Art

I've recently discovered the glorious thing called Art. Apparently, it's all about self-expression and such hootenanny.

But it comes in many forms such as paint, poetry, sculpture and... paint. There have been several phases of it as well such as the "pop art period" I think it should be taught as a subject in schools. Do you agree, WLW?

How to make things out of chocoate- that's the kinda subject we want.

Hello, Zine!

I am Parsley Possum's "friend" as you may know, the one and only Mr Duck. The truth is, Parsley keeps me locked in the basement, feeds me only on piccalilli and instant mash and forces me to watch repeats of The Waltons.

Luckily, he didn't tie the restraints tight enough this evenoing, so concider this my cry for help!

Where are you? Any familiar sounds? Train noise? Bon Jovi CDs?

WLW And Ziners

I don't know if any of you have been accustomed to safety scissors throughout your lives, but they are almost entirely useless.

I tried to cut a piece of paper with some and they failed, a telegraph pole- they failed. OK, I didn't actually try the telegraph pole but my point is they don't cut anything and so defeat the object of being scissors. They come in nice colours though.
Frank The Potato

Exactly! What's the point of them? I mean 'safety' scissors? Why?

A Plea To Ziners Everywhere

I presume some of you have heard the news that "Delia" has now become an official word. This was due to the fact many people say it. It has become a nationally recognised term.

So, if we at Zine were to make up a word, and we got enough people to say it, it could become part of the English language! I was thinking of splodgifirous- anyone got anything?

I Am Not Amused

I must admit that I'm somewhat crestfallen. I showed up at the Hear'Say auditions on Monday in full battlefield regalia- including my jodhpurs and smoking my pipe- but the people in charge registered scant regard for my tonsillorial talent.

They would not let me past the door as I began trilling Land of Hope And Glory. I was most distressed. I felt my chirpy warbling would be awe inspiring.

Peas

Peas are so annoying. They are so small and round, they roll everywhere. Whenever I cook peas, I always manage to lose about 10% of them due to spillage. And when draining the pan, you can guarantee some peas will escape down the sink, despite your best efforts.

Why can't we have square peas instead? They'd be so much easier to handle.
Captain Slog

Alternatively, eat mushy peas instead- vile, but they stay on the plate.

Anoraks

I know parents were designed to be embarrassing, but my dad's exceptional. He is a "locomotive ehtusiast".

Having observed the type of people that attend stream train events, I can only be thankful that he hasn't grown a beard and doesn't walk around covered in badges with his trousers tucked into his socks. However, last week, I found him in his room- waving his arms around pretending he was a train!

McDonald's

I have come to the conclusion that McDonald's is fundamentally wrong (except for the Smarties McFlurrys). First, the manager's always a jumped up squirt from yourschool but in Year 9, so they think they're superior.

Secondly, gherkins in the burgers, need I say more? Thirdly, they're taking over every town like some world domination. I'll get back to you, my McFlurry is melting.

A Mind of My Own

I hope that celebrated songstress Victoria Beckham is happy with her new ditty, currently residing in numerous record outlets throughout this great country. She is a credit to the nation and her sporty spouse must be proud.

Perhaps her next tune could be dedicated to myself- I would even dress up to appear in the video. I'm sure she'd be heartily impressed by the medals festooned on my velvet tunics.

Yes, I know bands like Westlife are the spawn of Satan, but everyone likes at least one boyband.

Broccoli has a rather worrying Take That obsession and I can't decide between O-Town and a1, but it's true what I said on Zine a few years ago... EVERY boyband has a !rock" member! Except Westlife, obviously, where they are all identical muppets!

Well now you're just asking for it.

Biskwit

Careful what you say about Princess Psycho. Last time I called her PP she sent round the Viking Hordes. They dissed the three-piece suite, the carpet and the fridge freezer. Once they got indoors however, they were fine.
Mondo

If I recall correctly, wasn't it "Pee Pee", not PP? I know you hate to get pedantic, though.

New Food

Zapple: An apple with extra zing
Bread-flick: Like a breadstick but you flick it in your mouth
Flancake: Pancakes mixed with a teaspoon of flan
Bacon-Branie: A bacon sarnie made of All-Bran
Emptymeal bread: The opposite to wholemeal bread
Boast: Special toast that impresses people
Chef Zaganza

Hmm, one too many slices of boast I fear, 'Chef' Zaganza.

Zine Is Famous

As I got up stupidly early one Sunday morning, to get ready for Battle of The Bands in a nearby north Worcestershire h*llhole, I heard a conversation about favourite Teletext pages on Pete and Geoff.

Guess what? Zine was mentioned, as was WLW! Sadly, they did mock, calling it "the centre of bad teenage poetry", but you can't win them all.
Toodles, Fishmonger of Doom

Yay! All publicity is good publicity. So, who are Pete and Geoff then?

The Torture Garden Does anyone read Angst every day, just waiting for Dr Nick to reply: "Ha ha, you loser"?

And I thought it was just me waiting for that.

Styluskid Jesus is coming, look busy.

We're always busy at the Towers.

Melted Suffragette Undertaker I know Concrete Donkey! He lives in an old lady's front garden down my road! There are pansies growing out of him! I am using too many exclamation marks!

And you've given me a headache.

Do The Weasel Dance

Good grief, the kraken has awoken.

My sister was a bit miffed about me feeding her dog food. I think she should be grateful, her hair is nice and shiny and I'm sure having a wet nose is a sign of good health.

Still, she did come out worse when she tried to chase my cat. The stitches will come out in a few days, though.
Princess Psycho

Let this be a lesson to you, giraffelets. I prescribe a Zapple or two.

If Only

If only I was King of The World, I would:

* Get rid of all advert breaks
* Make George W Bush work in my local McDonald's
* Get The Vines to play at my birthday party
* Play up front for Man City
* Force WLW to reveal her/ his identity
* Have a tour of WLW Towers
The Young Upstart

A tour of WLW Towers? There's an idea. Better get the polish out then.

Disillusioned Rant

Aren't the paparazzi pointless? All they live for is to take photographs of celebs and hope that some saddo will pay too much for it.

I mean, who really cares if there's a picture of Slipknot setting fire to a live cat in a keyboard?

Or Liam Gallagher trying to read a stop sign or Michael Jackson's nose coming off when he sneezes.
The Wonky Gnome

Pointless they may be but flamin' rich with it. Grrr.

One of two ways

A man walks into a doctor's with a steering wheel down his trousers. The doctor says: "I bet that's annoying!" The man says: "Of course it is, it's really painful! Are you a real doctor?" The doctor then looks deflated that his attempt at humour failed, but helps the man. The man's health quickly turned a corner.
Colonial Foot Soldier

All signs indicated he'd go right eventually.

Never forget

It is 10 years since the Kentish Town Rebellion of 1998. It was terrible- 14 farmers killed and 20, 000 Christmas dinners ruined because lots of turkeys plotted together and rose up against all their farmers and fates. They were merciless as they tried to be free. Please remember all the people who ate beef in 1998 when you eat your yummy turkey on Christmas Day. Never forget!
Little Blue Fox

I hear some of them are still in hiding on the Costa del Sol.

Easy as ABC and D

To everyone: Kindly refrain from a) attempting to set me up with Elden Ray, who I have nothing but the deepest respect as a long-term and classy Ziner, b) discussing my secret longing for Daddypoos, and c) making lists like this. Oh, hang on: d) brown-nosing WLW.
Mondo (Was That Alright, Boss?)

Your brown nosing has decreasing in both quantity and quality recently, Mondo.
