Officially female according to Pamplemeese Decree.

Quick question to anyone in particular who may or may not give a rat's a*s:

Does anybody remember a 'Ziner by name of 'She Who Lost The Plot'?

Basically, I found out a couple of days ago that this is actually my friend Sophie. I've known her since... early 2005? And I just found this out now, about four years later. Admittedly, it's not really something one chats about much, but STILL.

Yeah, it was unexpected. That's all.

That's a name I definitely recall, and beyond the fact that a lot were "S/He Who"s. Fun!
I've never had such a coincidence for 'Zine. I'd really like one, but it's a bit late now.
Debs heard some people chatting on a bus about it once, right?

Yeah, the name rings a bell because I remember stories about multiple people claiming to be her. Wasn't one of them called Faye?

There were two users of that 'Zine name at least, Dan is right. One was friends with Le Enfant Terrible Paul, (she was called Faye btw)...she attended 'Zine meets and was from Barnsley, but I can't remember if it was her that turned out to be a fake or the other one.

Definitely remember the name.

My small world stories involve one of my best friends at uni knowing Laura (Caged Liberty) rather well (I think they share the same ex) and a friend down in London knowing Nadia through some thing or other, I forget how. I don't really care, and probably shouldn't. Oh, and my best friend and his stand-up comedian flatmate met Seaneen whilst being a zombie for Charlie Brooker in his tedious plague of the undead Big Brother thing. THE WORLD IT IS SMALLLS.

A friend of mine is on a Manics forum so we get coincidences with 'Ziners because of how-stupid-many of them are Manics fans.
Also, I think I'd seen her icon on last.fm before we ever met.
And my family once went on holiday to Jersey at the same time as the neighbours without realising, and met there.

/me gives no more or this'll stop being a 'Zine topic.

You're all w*nkers. In order for me to even come close to another 'Ziner involves a short plane journey. Nightmare.

Although, Martin did say he came into the shop where I work once randomly, but I was off.

He was cool. Never wrote in, though.

A few years ago, i sent off for a copy of a fanzine called Exeunt Seraphim, it was named after a line from a Sylvia Plath poem and was edited by two sisters called (i think) Harriet and Ellie. The fanzine contained an article about Zine, where they said that they both had written in and so had their brother. i think one of them wrote in as Sheila, Taking A Bow but i can't remember the other two Zine names. i still have it somewhere in one of my fanzine boxes.

i could be wrong, as my memory sometimes gets mixed up. But i think you once said that you went to see the Manics when they played at Leeds Town & Country. i think it was either in 1996 or 1997.

October 8th 1996 it was, two days before my sixteenth birthday.  They were absolutely awesome that night as well, from what I remember of it, they did the one of the most ferocious versions of Stay Beautiful I've ever heard.  It was only the second gig I'd been to, actually, and I did my first ever crowd-surf that night (the first of what must be thousands by now!), to Faster, no less.  Ah, those halcyon days............

Did you go to the gig at Manchester NYnex in 1997/8ish, the one that got filmed and broadcast live on Radio 1?  I was at that as well, but it wasn't anywhere near as good.  They come across much better in the smaller venues, I think.

Seriously though, that Town and Country gig was brilliant, probably all the more so cos it was the first time I'd seen them. Have you got any memories of that night? Probably blurs for you a bit cos you've seen 'em loads more times than I have (I think I'm upto about eight or somewhere thereabouts.........)

i know it was more than a few years ago. But i felt embarrassed that i wasn't sure what year it was. i tend to worry that i'm stupid/ pathetic/ scum/ other when i feel memorifically unsure. That's why i worded it stupidly.

I find there's a small benefit to being memorifically challenged. I can read a book/watch a film, and in five years' time, not remember anything but the basic plot, and thus enjoy it almost like the first time all over again.
