Hi all.  I know this is like my umpteenth suggestion since I came back... but I was thinking about all the puns and one liners 'Zine used to provide (thanks to you guys) I just wanted to maybe continue that element in some sort of form.  I know that the longer letters were great, but some truly great one liners have been on page one, and I just thought maybe if people had twitter accounts, then we could reply to one main account and see all of them on there.  Not sure the finer details, or even what to call it (thinking four characters, as @username space takes 6 characters out of the 140 already.

I know it's a rubbish idea, and I'm full of them, but please let me know what you think. Ask relevant questions if you want.

Right. However minorly, this is happening. Hopefully.

We're going for the #.... style tweeting method, which means typing #mzine for example (our test one) and then as Claire says, you type your message and send it.

Then it'll appear on the search function if you type in #.... i.e. our chosen thing. Suggest some names. But hopefully not something already used as #something, or anything rude, obviously.

You'll need a twitter account to write, but anyone can read.

Hoorah, any suggestions for a name? Also, what would be the best approach for posting the letters?
I was thinking:
@replies
or
direct messaging and RTs
or
something else, I suck at twitter.

Mega or Zine for 4 letter names, but I bet they're already taken. VRMZ?

Good ideas. I was thinking maybe a pun or something to do with page one. But I also thought mael or emael, playing on Colin's pseudo. But that would imply his involvement and require consent and that.

Yeah, please don't; that'd be egotistical by proxy. Or something.
I'm not sure about a 'Ziney name 'cause I don't want to act like this is the new 'Zine. It's a decent idea, though, and I'd happily contribute if I bothered to get a Twitter account. I can't help but think there'll be a better way to make this work somewhere in cyberspace but I can't think of it.

I wouldn't. We need a fresh start name wise. As in something different to 'Zine or VR, as I don't want to drag either through the mud, and it's different. Also to keep anyone who finds it from finding us us.

Also, just thought of Zine On Demand - Zod or something similar, but that sounds gay.

Page One On Demand makes pood. Not sure about that either.
What about "something" Live?

If Diadora went live, people might confuse them for a video game or synthpop group.

Twitter is basically a site of Facebook statuses. You can talk to other people via 140 word messages or just update about whatever you like. The attraction for a lot of people is that quite a few celebrities (Stephen Fry, Phillip Schofield, Lily Allen etc) have taken to 'twittering'. Various news sites have quoted Stephen Fry's twitter as a statement on Jade Goody's death   Basically, a 'Zine version would allow people to make 140 word updates to a page in a Page One stylee.

oohhh, page one of ZINE. I get it.

I like the idea.

Oddly enough, I have been planning to do exactly the same, except I didn't know about twitter.

Sorry betterMark, not your fault.

Miss Claire has made an interesting discovery, most likely one that doesn't require an account to post to. All you do is post #topicname

like #mzine and then your message, and then it can be searched for. And then you can read them all. Apparently! Might not need an account to read either. But to post needs one.

Could you wait a bit until we/I come up with a better name? Then we'll get this sorted. That way my first post will look professional and informative. Not ramble. Also, doesn't necessarily have to be a pun, but anything you might normally send to Page One. (Of 'Zine)
