My first gig was Wizzard at Liverpool Uni when I was 13. I still can't figure out why they had two drummers. Eddie Clarke

My first gig was Bryan Adams at Wembley Arena in 1994. Pat Benatar and Bryan Adams were my favourite artists as a child. My first single was a 7" of the charity record Christmas Wrapping, a cover of The Waitresses by Tony Robinson with the choir Libera. If music were politics, Silvio Berlusconi would have a less shady past than me. Lawrie Ward

My first gig was Rush on the Farewell To Kings tour on 23/2/1978 when I was 17, at Manchester Apollo. To this day, they're my favourite band. I've still got the T-shirt, though it's a struggle to get it on these days. PJ Fry

My first gig was Anthrax, supported by Living Colour, at Newcastle City Hall when I was 12 in 1988. My next two gigs are Cat Power in Manchester and Tom Waits in Edinburgh. Oh, how my tastes have changed. Bathysphere

My first gig was travelling from Southampton to Clapham Common in 1986, aged 16, to see an anti-apartheid gig with Big Audio Dynamite (my favourite band at the time), Aswad and Boy George, whose face was covered in flour. He was on every front page the next day, so the meaning was lost. I had a fantastic time. Tony Tudor

My first gig was The Beach Boys in 1968 at Finsbury Astoria. Four years on, I'm seeing Brian Wilson in July. BBFan

My first gig was Bob Dylan at Newcastle United's ground in 1984, with Santana and Lindisfarne as support. What a show! To see Dylan for the first time was an incredible experience, in great form, promoting his Infidels album. To top it all off, I met two girls who had smuggled in a bottle of wine and had a romance with one of them. It started an amazing 10-year run of gigs. A McGarvey

My first gig was Motorhead in 1979. My ears are still ringing. Ed Barker

What a coincidence. On the day The Void showed my letter about Elton John being my first gig, you also screened Gaynor recalling her first gig at Liverpool Royal, Suede. That was also my son's first gig. I took him. I remember when Brett came on, the s*xual charge was in the air and no mistake. Gazzoir

My first gig was Elvis Presley in 1975 in Michigan. it's all quite vague, as I was only seven. My next gig was Duran Duran in Birmingham in 1983. Steve W

The first album I bought was Marilyn Manson's Antichrist Superstar in 1998 when I was 12, while my first single was Depeche Mode's Barrel of A G*n. A decade later and I'm wtill into both artists. My most recent album was the new Goldfrapp, but I can't remember the last single I bought as it was so long ago. Shane Damien

What was Earls's first gig? Jo Walsh

Earls: The Quireboys at Milton Keynes Pitz in 1990 when I was 17. Good stuff.

I Need A Word

Jingle, we need a word. I would like to point out that B*sted do NOT rock in any way. I hate the band, I hate the music and I hate the word. (I'll get hate mail off Emma-The-Li'l'-Angel now.)

Oh, and WLW, did you know that where I live, the nickname for moshers is sweadys?
Mad Mental Mosher

Sweadys? Sound like turnip heads to me.

Monster Mash

I have created a huge monster! It's so tone deaf it listens to Busted, so blind it thinks WLW is a pink hippo called Willow, and so dumb it likes to wear townie gear!

Can you draw me a picture of a monster, WLW?

Brass Monki

I know you just forgot to mention the two heads.

I'm Back

Has anyone thought how scary ot would be if we found a gerbil with eyebrows that looked like the gerbil from Busted?

Anyways, I promise not to mention the B-word again. Let's talk about pilchards. Pilchards pilchards pilchards pilchards pilchards pilchards. Don't we all feel better now?
Pablo Marmite

"Awesome" doesn't go far enough indescribing Foo Fighters on Saturday. They're the best band in the world today. chris Chapman

I'm 48 and, like fellow Voider Paul, I saw Kids In Glass Houses recently. I survived being crushed by the 16-year-old crowdsurfers in Norwich and a moshing good tim. Old? Pah! Lorraine Raven

I go to Manchester Academy a lot, and the security levels The Reverend stated for Ministry only happens rarely, when there's perceived risk of violence, such as a history of trouble with the band at other venues.

It's rare to go to a rock gig and see the metal detectors out. That said, every rap gig I've been to has not just metal detectors and body searches, but also visible police in the building just in case. Efils God

Hats off to Alan Ross for mentioning The House of Love's Christine as the first single he bought. I've always loved them, and it prompted me to revisit their records.

Suddenly, I'm back to the late '80s summers when I was a student, lazing in sun-soaked fields, sipping cider and reciting Blake and Shelley to a soundtrack of Echo & The Bunnymen, Teenage Fanclub, Lush and Pixies. The power of music, eh? Pink Panther
