Colin -

I am aware of Alanis Morrissette's song Ironic... but was what WLW said in reply to my page one letter at all witty? I'm quite confused.

Chris Kamara -

i've not read it, but i'd hasten a bet at 'no, not at all'.

(This should've been just one post, I realise).
(Or I should've edited the other one.)
(Too many brackets.)

My message was:
"Expect some irony... Oh, there wasn't any."
and WLW's reply...
"Thanks, Alanis Morrissette"

That might not be exact.

Gary - I is not evil.

I is not evil.

It's a short comment, he didn't have much to work with. He could have put 'Thanks, Vigilante Maelstrom' but that wouldn't be nearly as funny.

He tries his best.

I like an escalator because an escalator can never break, it can only become stairs. There would never be an "Escalator temporarily out of order" sign, only an "Escalator temporarily stairs. Sorry for the convenience."

I don't think he's trying to be hilariously funny, or anything, it makes sense though, so I don't know why you're confused.

You're saying there is a lack of irony in your post. Alanis Morrisette promises irony yet delivers none, etc. He's pointing out that similarity.

I suppose so.

That was the third time I'd sent that, and I think WLW didn't print it before because s/he couldn't think of anything funny to say.

I never really listened to the song, I'm just aware of its existence. That previous post was a reply to Osiris, by the way.

Edit: Crikey! I spelled "its" "it's" - What am I coming to?
Edit 2: And I spelled "existence" right, then changed it to be wrong! Aah!
