(i watched Loose Women today and denise welch was talking about her mother's funeral. She said crem instead of crematorium. What the heck kind of word is crem?)

Always use the word crem. Less of a mouthful than crematorium
Probably depends how many funerals you've been to at one before you start to use it as a word, mind.
More affectionate in a way, crematorium seems very much colder than crem.
But that's just me.

Anyway, turns outthe lad i knew who completely re-arranged a girls face and tried to rape her at new year had also previously been charged with child abuse and child rape.

Also his mother and sister kept this fact from his other, eldest sister, who has two kids. She had to read about it in the local rag as a comment in the story about his being sent down.

So that's lovely.

i haven't exactly been to many funerals; i've only been to three. And i don't think i ever heard anyone say crem before; i s'pose i thought it sounded flippant.

i actually saw the furnace me dog went into...

There's a haunting image.
*pats casket*
Really quite large, apparently the same one they use to cremate ponies...
Empty, clinical & horrible.
But i suppose if it was soft, cosy & lovely it wouldn't really be fit for purpose

Idiots.

Friend of mine was doing a Phd. Worked from September to April without getting paid. Still waiting on getting paid. Owed over €12,000 from them.

It's amazing how little people care when it's not their money. They don't seem to realise "Hey, maybe they need that money badly. Let's try get this sorted". Instead it's "Ah, I'll do it later if I think of it..."
