What the f*ck is wrong with womankind?!

There's a girl in work who I'm pretty sure is mildly autistic and she seems to have been trying her best to get at me recently.
All I get is stupid f*cking snidey comments and her excersizing her authority over me, of which she has none.
I'm having a rough enough time as it is at the minute without her making 40 hours of every week about 50 times harder!
Just when I'm starting to feel like I'm getting somewhere and I'm coming out of my shell and making friends she dfhivvbqebbuhufgbicanteventypeimsoangry!

Ahem.

I've calmed now.
I've never actually met anyone like this girl though. She just talks and talks and talks and she has nothing interesting to say and then when you don't make the right head movements and grunts she gets her back up.
She is hands down the rudest person I have ever met, it's as if she doesn't know how to interact with people properly. She's rude to the customers, her workmates, her bosses. Everyone! But she gets away with it because 'she's just like that'.

It's just another thing to add to a long list, but today I made a coffee to take home with me and she shouted across the shop at me 'You're not supposed to make coffee to take home!'. It's fair enough and I didn't know we weren't supposed to but seriously, none of my supervisors were arsed and there's no need to shout it across the shop and then she called me weird to another girl when she was only about 2 metres away from me.

My answer to this is always to walk away, but I really think I'm going to have to say something soon because I don't think I can contain my rage anymore.
She's just such a b*tch I don't know what to do.

tbh i've learnt that with people like this the walk away thing isn't really an option, you have to do something or they'll keep going.

bear in mind that, if you think she really might be mildly autistic, there's a chance she genuinely doesn't know what she's doing.

I went to a college with a guy who was autistic, I had every class with him and he disrupted all of them by talking constantly and acting up.
I gave him a chance and stuff cause he can't really help it but at a point you just have to be selfish and say 'hey, I know it's not your fault but you're really disrupting my education and it's not on'. I got him in trouble and he quietened down.
My point is, even if someone can't help something it doesn't mean they should be able to get away with everything, it just isn't fair.

Phil has the winning answer here. Probably I would have said something marginally less violent, but she isn't going to know she's a pain in the a*se unless you tell her. And some people will whine and say if she has problems that make her that way you should keep quiet because she can't help it, but like everyone, people with problems don't learn unless you point them in the right direction.

Well her biological parents and sister are all autistic, and I can't help thinking from the way she acts she may be slightly although no one has ever said so.

I'm being incredibly tolerant at the minute.

Also, just to point out she knows exactly what she is doing and I'm the only person she does it to.
She's took a disliking to me for a reasons I don't know and now she's revelling in belittling me.
Part of the reason it winds me up so much is the little smirk on her face afterwards.
And the fact she calls me chick as a diffuser.

My cousin teaches at a special needs school, all different types of kids in, but he specialises in teaching disruptive ones, he's good at it too. He had a down syndrome teenager, was quite an angry kid and when he got angry, he'd smash things up. Anyway, our kid worked with him for months, calmed him down, made him realise that smashing stuff up wasn't good all that. Then one day something set the kid off and he didn't know how to express his rage as he'd been taught violence was bad. So he decided to express his anger by dropping his kecks, in the middle of class and sh*tting all over the floor.

Me cousin had to wipe his a*se.

I'm going to continue using this thread to whinge about work.
Tune out now if you don't enjoy listening to others self pity.

My boss is also a complete prick!
We gave free coffee to some people who work in the shop next door so they gave us a HUGE bag of sweets in return. Lindt none the less!
We left them under the counter till he came in and I think everyone kind of assumed he was just going to give us some, or put them in a bowl for us or something, but no. He took them. The whole bag, spilling over the top with more sweets than any one person could ever eat. He just took them and left.
It's not even about the sweets. It's the principal of the matter.
Those were FOR us. And he knows we know he took them and that they were for us because we were the ones that served them in the first place.

I know I've been naive in the past about the reality of work but I honestly just never expected that someone could treat their staff as badly as he treats us.
It's not even for my sake as I don't intend on being their long and I refuse to let myself get stressed about a minimum wage job but it makes me feel like a sell out. All my impassioned ranting about fair treatment and trade unionism throughout uni!
The advice (that I now realise was terrible) that I gave to people in similar situations.
And now I just roll over and wait for my paycheck like a beaten dog.

I didn't even really believe people like him existed till now.

(Well, Joel did once say that you'd go to h*ll; that was when you said he looked like Romeo Stodart.)

i didn't find DotPhil's story funny, although i liked that Phil used the word kecks in it as it's a good northern word.

i think that sometimes use autism as an excuse to act like a loser, like that rob/ roman holiday.

i remember that Sammy once said (in his 2006 Tot Ziens thread) that he thinks everyone has autism.

i don't have any advice that i can offer Laura but i'm sorry about her being treated like that as she doesn't deserve it.

Also, what's happened to the Danish/ Irish girl, has she been sacked yet?

No she hasn't. Another reason he is a complete a*sehole.
I'm really hoping she doesn't get sacked as she's the only one I get on with. We went out the other night and she got me hammered on some strange Faroese alcohol that tasted like cough medicine. It was minging but you got to shout Skol first so I got over excited and drank loads.

He gave us an umbrella and my feet were wet for the entire 8 hours.
I hate that greedy, selfish, self obsessed bigot so much I actually want to cause him physical pain.

How does he sleep at night knowing he's treated his staff the way he does?
How does he look into the eyes of his children?
