When I went on it originally, it was fine - no side effects. It just didn't help cramps. After about 3 months I started being sick every day, and the alternative pill I tried a couple months later did the same. If I had had a job or college at the time I would have been too sick to go in.
But I suppose this kind of pain would keep me off work anyway so.

I'm wondering if the implant would help tbh.
Lisa's stories of black periods have somewhat put me off though.

that's just my f*cked up body
sis & friend have been fine, the only problem they've had, which was the same as me was that they would come on, be on for a few days, then it'd go away
only to come back a few days later
which was rather irritating

hooowever, i've now finally gone back to normal :3

which is good because i got a bit worried the thing wouldn;t work for a while there >_>

It's trial and error.
It's weird how excessive cramping comes and goes though.
How long have you been off contraception?
Maybe the pain is temporary until your body gets used to regulating its own hormones again or something. I'm having a similar if less severe problem at the minute but I just assumed it was because month has been different since I came off them.

Years.

I just don't want to have periods anymore.

Injection apparently has no periods as per a friend. 3 monthly though.

o0o I don't mind injections. Might be a pain going to the doctors three times a month, though.

it was the dentist that prescribed them, which was the one appointment we didn;t have to fill in a health form. go figure

anyway i know the st johns wort and... HIV, TB drugs do affect the implant

something about enzymes with those....

with antibiotics though, i've googled and the majority of sites have said no it doesn't but thern there's ones that have said they don't know

i'm in college tomorrow so might call into the drop in clinic if i have time... if not i'll go down the drop in centre in town on friday and see what they say

Yup, the only thing I can find mentions oral contraception and not other contraception, but I would still ring your GP, NHS Direct (08454647) or pop into the pharmacist to double check. I wouldn't worry though, I am 99% certain that there shall be no chidlers for Lisa.

but I could have been a grandmother.

it can and does cause irregular bleeding

mine f*cked me about in the first year, they vanished for about 6 months, then came back as, when and how they wanted, this settled down in the second year and they were pretty regular, but still either heavy, hardly anything there or gungy.

i know mine is just about dead right now but i came on a fortnight ago, spotted, went heavy, then back to spotting and off after a week.

yesterday it came back with a vengence.

so it could just be the implant messing it about, but best to check.

i've decided mine's not going back in unless the doctor says i should have it
to see what happens.

i'd rather lose some weight then have another fitted, than just have another put in now and pile more weight on

considering i checked my BMI and i'm now in the obese range( ), they might not let me have another in anyway
