They're all quite nice, but I like number three the best. I was going to say number two but I think I just prefer the simplicity of the third photo

Get your Antlers on

I like three, especially as it's the only one I can tell the city from instantly (although it is an overdone shot, as Antonia said), I just wish the very bottom was chopped off so there wasn't that bit of stone arch, or whatever it is, in the corner... And with two, I wish there wasn't so much purple- it hurts my eyes! Overall, I prefer the style of one, hence where my vote went. They're all good though

I'd forgotten about this too

But one certainly gets my vote. Great composition and colouring (or rather lack of colouring, but in a good way. You know what I mean :p).

I like an escalator because an escalator can never break, it can only become stairs. There would never be an "Escalator temporarily out of order" sign, only an "Escalator temporarily stairs. Sorry for the convenience."

1 would probably have been better if they had cropped a bit off the bottom, but I think it's my favourite.
2, I'm not so keen on...I think colouring it was possibly a mistake.
3, I think it's a good picture, but so many people have taken that shot, so, it loses out because of that.

Good efforts though.

Charmed I'm sure

I like 2 best. Not to keen on what has been done with the colour but I like trees, I like water, and the carvings on the fountain are well done. I like it.

Three ace photos, I have to say.

I did one photography module at Uni and attained the worst mark I did in any module. It's not nearly as easy as you think it is, not that I'm suggesting anyone thinks that.
I hope some day, for some reason, David Duchovny is investigated by the FBI. Because that would make a great story.

To be fair, I think we probably need to find some way of getting more longevity from this thread - to justify its move to the front page.

I feel that by having a limited selection of only three photographs, there's not much scope for debate and little chance of this thread having a lifespan of much more than a couple of days.

Still, that's just a thought.

Photo two is interesting, but I find the colour scheme pretty overwhelming. Maybe leave all the stonework and inate objects grey scale, and have the colour bleeding through the trees, plants, grass and water. Almost like a concept of life.

1. I like it, takes something simple and makes it interesting.

2. The colouring just doesn't work for me.

3. I don't like it, beautiful building yes but I feel the picture takes away from that fact rather than adds to it.

So number 1 is the (sigh) one for me.

are we guessing who did these?

can't think why but I reckon Sammy did one, and Claire two. No idea for three.

number one gets my vote though.

Ok then, 3 for the tit reference. Doesn't stop me disliking them though.

Yeah me too. I've got albums worth of stuff that would have won this no problem. That's what happens when i don't pay attention to what people say

Modest as usual Dan

Not a fan of modesty of subtlety. But im aware of my own faults. If something i do is good (or bad), i'll say so. Don't like it when people mince their words to sound nice. To sum it up -

Things i do that are ace - I take some awesome photos, i have a great eye for a good coat, my record collection is absolutely diamond, i still have the best hair on VR, and i have no idea why, but im immensly strong (ive been to the gym about 3 times in since i was 16, but i can bench press 285lbs)

Things i do that aren't so ace - Some photos are total gash, my music reviews aren't what they used to be, i look strange from the left (hockey ball + nose = slanted nose)
