Taking a bite

Mackie O'Velly Happy Halloween to all 'Ziners, but be careful! Imagine taking a bite out of a hotdog before you realise it's got a vein in it!
I'd be more surprised if said hotdog didn't have veins in it.

Daddypoos, Wigan (Des Titute) Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible... YAWN. ZZZzzz. Wake me up Monday.
*Whispers to all bar Daddypoos* Let's make a pact and notdo it.

It's Halloween

And it's time to celebrate. I decided to have my very own ghost watch last year. It was OK, but I could only tell the time after midnight, when there was a full moon - and even then it kept creeping up on me and going "WHOOOOOoooo". So, I was forced to go back to my zombie cuckoo clock.
Undead Stouffer

Does it go back four seconds when they're hungry?

Every Halloween's the same

My mate Dave comes to the door dressed as a troll and I try to flame him with the creme brulee torch. Here I am once more, dressed as Shaznay Lewis, bobbing for Appleton sisters in the bargain buckets of musical travesty. Oh, and Yvette Fielding is crying. Karl and Stuart bravely wrestle mild breezes in secret locations. It's all scary stuff. There's pumpkin pie in my stomach.
Dissimulation
If name-dropping were an art, you'd be less Damien Hirst and more Rolf Harris.

No trick, no treat

So it is Halloween and we Vikings have been busy due to the lack of pumpkins. In Norway, we have traditional Viking dishes - Rakorret, Gravlaks, Lutefisk and Myrmelk for the trick or treaters. If that doesn't work, we dress up as Icelandic bankers and blood eagle some stockbrokers.
The Viking Horde

And who says the 'Zine's not topical?

Don't worry, I've still got a copy and I've put it online

But I don't have the 3rd of November... So if someone has that, it would be nice.

What would be nicer is teletext peeps making sure that the RSS feed is correct, has the right date attached to the right letters before publishing it - then this wouldn't happen...

Mal: Appears we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us?
Zoë: Big damn heroes, sir.

Exactamundo.

I think I've got a workaround though - I'll only check at the end of the day, so if there are any mistakes they'll have fixed them by the time VR checks... Downside is, it might make the letters appear a few hours late.

Colin -

I wouldn't mind, and I always like to check 'Zine when it goes up.
I could just check on the Teletext site, and your own site and VR would still be useful 'Zine resources - mega-zine.co.uk for easy archive browsing and VR for discussion.
