Talented multi-instrumentalist frontman of Sparklehorse, one of my favourite bands, has shot himself.

I was really looking forward to a new album from him sometime soon. He only released four albums with Sparklehorse and all of them are fantastic, dreamy, lysergic pop straight out of the top drawer.

Anyone who's missed them and wants to investigate should start with either Good Morning Spider or Dreamt For Light Years in the Belly of a Mountain, then It's A Wonderful Life and then Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot. There's a whole wealth of brilliant music contained therein.

Emma: I know there aren’t many people looking at this anymore… but I have made the decision to stop paying for the VR hosting and to let the domain lapse.
Emma: I think it will be going offline around the end of May
Emma: It’s been almost 10 years since James passed away… and I feel like it’s time.
Emma: A lot of the regulars can be found on the VR veterans group on Facebook - if you see this and you’re not in there, come join us.
