Terribly predictable. Not quite sure why the 2nd Arcade Fire album is in their, because it was dogsh*t.

(i don't think any list can be true and right, it's just someone's opinion. Glad Super Furry Animals are on there, though.

i would have put Send Away The Tigers by Manic Street Preachers and Rather Ripped by Sonic Youth on.)

Didn't pretty much everywhere have Chutes Too Narrow as one of their best albums of 2003 when it came out?

Edit - Absolution in there ahead of Origin of Symmetry? Die in a fire.

Mancomb Seepgood - Grog me.

Grog me.

Top 20, in reverse order innit:

Reflection Eternal (Taleb Kweli and Hi-Tek) - Train of Thought
Twilight Sad - Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters
Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not
Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
The Radioheads - Kid A
New Pornos - Twin Cinema
The Strokes - Is This It?
The National - Boxer
GYBE! - Lift Yr Skinny Fists
Hope of the States - Lost Riots
Loretta Lynn - Van Lear Rose
Avalanches - Since I Left You
Libs - Up The Brackets
Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
The Wrens - The Meadowlands (most overlooked album of the decade too going by these lists from your major music publications)
Arcade Fire - Funeral
Delgados - Great Eastern
Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
Modest Mouse - Moon and Antarctica
The National - Alligator (natch)

NME list is perfect for its audience. Can't imagine many would have predicted anything drastically different, and a bit pointless complaining considering most of those who are probably don't read NME.

It is a really NMEy list, but it is really wrong, still, I think.

I think "The Lost Riots" by HOTS, "Hazards of Love" by The Decemberists, "Origin of Symmetry" by Muse are albums of the decade too.
Also, Sigor Ros too.

It is really weird it is not any metal and rappy albums at-all. - System Of A Down and Rammstein are both really important, I think, and also lots of other rappers are lots more important than Jay-Z. I am not sure- I do not know so much about metal and rap at-all.
Also, it is weird "In Rainbows" is higher than "Kid A". - Kid A is lots more important and influential, I think, and also In Rainbows would not exist if Kid A did not exist first (please does it make sense at-all?).

It is really cool Super Furry Animals and Grandaddy are in the list too.

It hurts too much not to try.

Just to point out that the list was done via votes from a large panel of musicians, not just NME.

My top few would be

Radiohead - Kid A
Arcade Fire - Funeral
Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights
Hope Of The States - The Lost Riots
Libertines - Up The Bracket
