Dinglebutt - I aim to misbehave

I aim to misbehave

and before anyone asks, yes, I did come up with the title before figuring out what this thread would be about

But what acoustic versions of songs or acoustic cover songs do you think are quite good or better?

Pearl Jam - Black

Travis - Hit me baby one more time
Mal: Appears we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us?
Zoë: Big damn heroes, sir.
Mal: Ain't we just.

I'm not saying its better, but f*ck me thats a great version of it. Since I've heard this version, I prefer to listen to it rather than the original. The original is better, but this version gives me chills

Pearl Jam's unplugged show from the mid-90s was excellent, it has to be said, although not in the same class as Nirvana's.  I've probably said this before, but the pick of that group of shows was Alice in Chains for me.  Poor Layne Staley was in a right old state and Jerry Cantrell pretty much carried the whole thing, but f*ck me it was good.

Down in a Hole

obviously I would say this, but I love the Ryan Adams version on Down in a hole I wish I culd link you to the one he played when I saw him in Birmingham- magical.

I don't think the original can be bettered, but when Dave did Everlong with just him and a guitar a couple of years back it was quite hard to keep back the tears.

that version was sh*t.

the best acoustic version of 'Everlong' was on Jo Whiley's show back in 2000.

Has to be Rory Gallagher and too much alcohol. I wish i could play slide like he could

I saw a one man Rory Gallagher tribute band in a pub in Bradford a couple of years, and the guy was phenomenal. I couldn't believe the amount of times i heard pieces of other (newer) bands in the songs. Pretty much all of the last 4 minutes of 'I Am The Resurrection' by the Stone Roses is pure Gallagher.

Joe Bonamassa. Playing at CD shop. The only introduction needed.

House Carpenter - Pentangle. Bert Jansch on Banjo, John Renbourn on Sitar. The Beatle`s had the success. Pentangle had the talent.

Derek Trucks and Warren Hayes jamming out The Allman Brother`s `Old Friend.`

It`s more about the musicians than the songs, for me
