Mancomb Seepgood - Grog me.

Grog me.

The French Quarter. More Sigur Ros/Mogwai/EitS/Troubles/El Ten Eleven type pretty post-rock stuff. But no less brilliant than their peers.

http://www.myspace.com/zoeyvangoey]Zoey van Goey. More sweet boy/girl vocals. Drummer used to lecture on my course at uni.

Broken Records. The only band from Edinburgh I think I've ever cared hugely about.

Frightened Rabbit, because they're the only worthwhile pop act to come from the Scottish Borders. Apart from Ainslie off Fame Academy.

A place to recommend new music for those who wish to do so.

We've had the Fleet Foxes album in at Oxfam for a while so I'm planning on getting that at some point soon, and I've been meaning to buy some Band of Horses for ages.  Saw them on Jools Holland last week and been meaning to follow it up ever since.  They're the kinda band I can see myself falling madly in love with given a few listens

The latest Band of Horses album is fantastic.

I've plugged Johnny Foreigner enough on here so this time check out White Lies. Very much from the Editors/Interpol school of doom rock but very good at it. Check out Unfinished Business for something really quite special.

John Cage Bubblegum -

High Places - a Brooklyn duo specialising in delicate pop melodies drenched in reverb. Their self-titled album is gorgeous.

Algernon Cadwallader - they've been knocking about for over a year but they just released their debut full-length a few months back. Cap'n Jazz/Owls-styled emo, but more melodic. Not trying to score indie points but their demo is probably better than their LP. Sordo has links to both, amongst other things.

Flying Lotus - it appears aping the late J Dilla is this year's in thing in indie-rap circles, but nobody does it better than LA's Flying Lotus. His album (called 'Los Angeles', funnily enough) came out this year and is pretty slammin'.

4 or 5 Magicians - they've been gigging around the London toilet circuit for a while now but they're new enough for me. Rough-and-ready indie-rock a la Pavement, but with a distinctly British twist and some smart lyrics. Their Forever On the Edge and Change The Record / Ideal Man singles are up on eMusic, for anyone who subscribes to that. Their lead singer once managed Johnny Foreigner, true fact.

Little Blue Fox. - Hope is important.

Hope is important.

Please can I plug Johnny Foreigner? - They are really smart and creative, I think, and also twitchy and emotional.

Eyes Wide Terrified.

Salt, Peppa and Spinderella.

It hurts too much not to try.
I will see you in another life when we are both cats.
