I'm hoping to see Four Tet and Explosions in the Sky at the Mint Lounge in Manchester on the 1st November. If I can rope anyone into going with me, that is. Unfortunately, I only know people with terrible musical taste.

Ohhh you so lucky. I'd love to see them live, but I don't think theyre coming near me... no-one ever does.
Have a great time mate, are you going to take pictures?

i have no camera so proabably not. I'll transmit what i'm seeing to you telepathically though. Though thay may be intermingled with images of Ted Danson eating ice-cream as that image enters my mind a great deal. He loves the raspberry ripple flavour. If you do ever get the chance to see the Go! Team live defintely do. Saw them at T in the PArk and din't stop dancing like a loon for the whole set.

Just found out Lady Soveriegn's supporting. ONly heard her song with t'Ordinary Boys and quite liked it. Is the rest of her stuff any good?

Anyone know who's supporting them?

Street teaming is where you get sent huge packages of posters/flyers and sign up sheets for mailing lists, and in exchange for giving those out/collecting email adresses, you get put on the guestlist. Brilliant!

huzzah. Not only do i have to excellent Go! Team in Glasgow tomorrow, but get to see and interview Arctic Monkeys next Friday for free thanks to student paper. Also have The Decemberists, The National then Elbow all in a row from 16th-18th November, which should be fun. And Ordinary Boys, again for free, at end of October. I rock.

I should also point out my mate's band Indigo Fury (Hot Press New band of the year winners 2001, progress has been s....l...o.w.) are playing the Belfast Empire, in a Battle of the Bands competition clearly beneath them. Their total lack of ambition will keep them there.

Last Friday I went to a Miles Davis tribute night at the Birmingham Symphony Hall where the CBSO and the BBC Big Band did versions of classic Miles tracks. Lovely stuff
I hope some day, for some reason, David Duchovny is investigated by the FBI. Because that would make a great story.

Doesn't matter how much ambition they have, if they stay in northern ireland the best they can do is get the odd session on "Across The Line". Which is a tragedy.

You're right of course. They know this...and I think they've accepted the fact. They just lost in the Irish final of Battle of the Bands thingy in Derry and they don't seem too bothered to be honest.

Next gig for me... Prodigy.....then Rodrigo y Gabriela...then HMHB hopefully.
