Melancholy Spider

Hung up a fluttering heart to air,
But only melancholy spied it there,

Munching through that which is tender cut,
Bored a hole then slammed it shut,

Smashing up bonds of which there is no repair,
Draining all compassion till I had none spare,

Forcing reliance on a different vein,
Never a demon easily slain,

My empathy as the prey you ensnare,
Wailing gagged and dragged back to your lair,

Choking via your deadly caress,
Futile resistance from I spirit I no longer posses,

Now some beauty has a love they want me to share,
I regret to inform they'll find a heart so bare.
