My dark Nirvana

Clad in black and darkness bound
speaking in a tongue distorted by sound
Looking with eyes that can see no pain
completely normal, yet still deemed insane
There are no colours, just a few shades of black
we all live on needles, weed, cocaine and smack
on acids, meths and alcohol
paid for by our weekly dole
Around the fireside sniffing glues
Swapping memories, old rags and shoes
trying to mend our fast fraying socks
with small torn-up pieces of wet cardboard box
Then fight for a place in a main-street shop door
Your own half a square metre of cold concrete floor
By day it's the people's but by night it's your own
Your refuge, your shelter, the place you call home
Living in clothes that haven't been washed
trying to kick a drugs habbit that can never be quashed
Clinging to tales of a few and how they escaped
when the rest become rapists or one of the raped
At day we're all beggars on the hunt for some cash
At night we don't eat, we just blow it on hash
drugged-up and p*ssed, we sleep in our muck
to stoned to move, or to give a f*ck
And that is why I end it here
On this cold wet June night, on this cold listless pier
I drowned myself to set my soul free
to find my dark Nirvana, here, deep in the sea.
