Hard to say, since I'm not sure which of those listed is my favourite.

However, I should probably own a first gen kindle, be able to quote comic book guy, not be able to read, graduated from a third tier medical school to become a doctor and be a massive conspiracy theorist who likes the foo fighters.

Having seen what the lady looks like, I'm now wishing I was more into Dostoevsky.

I am...

- A smart geek.
- A girl who didn’t get enough drama when she was younger.
- Someone who bought the first generation Amazon Kindle.

But it was not so many of my bestest authors. It was lots of American authors.

It hurts too much not to try.

Harper Lee's my favourite out of all those, but i'm also:

Guys i want to sleep with.

Girls who didn't get enough drama when they were younger.

Ninth graders who think they're going to be authors someday but end up in marketing.

Liars.

Women whose favourite colour is hunter green.

Girls who keep journals (too easy).

Guys who wear skinny jeans and the girls that love them.

People who move to Thailand after high school for the drug use.

People who own one straw chair in their house.

Female high-school French teachers who have their master's degree.

Actually, one of the commenters on the blog did raise a good point. a real Doug Adams fan would have bought one of the eReaders that came out ages before the Kindle. Which confirms me even more, since i used to own a first gen Sony eBook.

This Jorje Leak, is where you are wrong. Having played about with a few, they are damned amazing devices. Granted, you lose the smell of the pages and the feel of the paper, but otherwise its just as good.

You may as well argue a fan of music would never listen to an MP3... Or a CD for that matter, so are you not a fan of music Jorje?

Which one and what did you dislike?

My argument on MP3 players stands... Remember it was only when the iPod came out that they started getting highly popular.

At the minute, I suspect about 80% of them are likely 'doing it wrong' (eBook readers that is.) I know my old Sony one was flawed, but still relatively decent for what it was.

I still think that a lot of the success of MP3 players due to the iPod came off the back of people buying a stylish product with only a vague idea of what it did. But it sure did look a lot cooler than anything else available...

After all, would Bang&Olufsen be as successful as they are if everyone knew that it was Phillips components wrapped in-cutting edge design? I can be sure as sh*t that a person wouldn't pay £1,000 for 2 conventional speakers with Phillips on them, but the same person would pay it for the same hardware in a flashy design.

Not really. THink of it in terms of functionality and what they can do.

Upto the first iPod, MP3 players all had tiny storage capacity, p*ss poor UI and were pains to sync up, allegedly, then along came Apple and changed that.

It only takes the same to happen with eBooks. Upto now, the ones I have played with have been relatively good, but have had some issues that just made them not good enough to have a massive market appeal.

The Kindle predominately took off because its Amazon who were pushing it. From what I have read, its far from amazing.

And Dan, while I agree with you in some respect, you are missing out pretty much what I said above about iPods. Plus, their are a lot of Phillips goods that cost a f*ck load, which people still buy.

I do find his endings disappointing, sudden, anti-climactic etc, but I absolutely love everything before the last 3 pages in most of his work. Except "Hey, Nostradamus", which was sh*t.
