Then again, examining the evidence, that was over two years ago. Talk about holding grudges

So unless there was something absolutely huge I'm missing, it seems a bit odd. But I'm relatively new, so what'd'I know?

Having studied the evidence (and mocked his cringeworthy comments accordingly), I'd be all for giving him a second chance, as long as realises and understands that it is exactly that. If he d*cks about, then out comes the banning stick to lance him like an ugly ulcer from the face of the community. Permenantly.

The lesson to learn is: on VR, the mods always win.

Not here much.

I'm a little apprehensive about casting banned people away forever. I mean I was banned once, but came back under a new name and eventually got unbanned. The main difference being I didn't say who I was right away...

If I can have a second chance, why can't he?

If you're going to be annoying, be annoying. We can handle annoying. Hacking people's internet accounts is illegal, unless I'm much mistaken?

Some things honestly don't deserve a second chance. I see where Rox is coming from; people do change a lot in two years, and teh fact he is now eighteen means he may have gained some kind of world experience that shows him what he did was unacceptable, but frankly, now, I don't think it's worth the risk. Unless there's some way of him demonstrating he has no intention of doing so, I no longer wish to put my MSN account one step closer to his grubby mitts.

you were banned? i dont remember you being banned, i thought you just left... i was an annoying tw*t too, but i didnt get banned... xphile's banning is more for generally insulting vr rather than being irritating. you dont completely insult something then say "uh, sorry, let me back in.". its more than likely a bluff..

So is it going to be fixed so he can't reregister again after he is fully banned?

I'd like to think people can reform, but what he did really was unacceptable so I don't really know what to say.

I've been banned twice from VR by the way.

Never on purpose though, it was due to IP address similarities. It scared the hell out of me, and because I'm the naturally guilty sort I spent ages trying to work out what I'd done to be banned and panicking. I blame Freeserve!

Sure, you have to be a little dim if a stranger can guess your s.q. answer, but that's not the point - he had his chance, he abused some members' trust and he used VR to gather e-mail addresses to gain unauthorised access. Not acceptable in my book.

Of course the final say rests with Andy, but in my view if you abuse a priviledge, you lose it. Xphile abused VR, VR isn't a right, so he loses it.
