LoonyPandora - Daft Cow?

Daft Cow?

http://www.apple.com

Yes, I know this isn't going to be a big deal to many users - but hey, - it's a perk of owning this place that I can tell everyone loads of stuff that they WILL find useful

it's iTunes for Windows - the greatest Digital Jukebox makes it way onto windows - exact same features as the mac version - even looks the same - and it works in a similar way too (I just installed it on Virtual PC)

I reccomend that EVERYONE who uses MP3's and such like download this and use it - bask in it's glory - it's worthwhile...

hmmm - a firewall wouldn't do that on it's own - it also plays CD's and stuff - REALLY cool - you PC users will finally realise what you've been missing out on for so long

also, legal music downloads!

is it software, or hardware?

software - just open up the necessary port - if it's hardware, setup some port forwarding - it's dead simple - I could probably walk you through it.... - but only if you use it to not distribute illegal MP3's......

you should be able to open ports ont he built in XP firewall - I think it's just a regular IP firewall...

and I'm not sure what you mean - it is illegal to download any music that you didn't pay for , that is copyrighted by the artist/label - and they haven't given permission to distribute it - I'd guess that downloading things, would be looked at in the same way as receiving stolen goods

anyway - if you need to open ports on your firewall to allow peers to connect to you, you are sharing music - well, I dunno what you are using - that's how bittorrent works at any rate

Chris Kamara -

i think the law is that you can have mp3s on your computer so long as you can prove you have them on store-bought CD's.

i have it on very good authority that the government aren't actually very interested in stopping illegal mp3 downloads because of the money and training involved. still, its illegal, so you shouldn't really do it.

i have a creative jukebox: cheaper than ipod 40GB and its 60GB. nearly filled it...

most of my mp3s are at 192kbps, i always rip at that level. anything below is rather poo in comparison. a lot of the stuff i download tends to be at 225kbps or whatever it is.
