How does Karen not know who Frankmusik is? Here's a big tip. Look at practically any "big in 2009" list. His songs so far have been brilliant, especially In Step. I've high hopes for his album. Also, I approve of Guj's idea. Maybe if we ignore The X Factor, it'll go away. Jude Green

I'm 39. Am I the only one who's so old who's off to see Lily Allen's tour in March, or are there others who'll be down with the kids? Robert SE

Go down to 30c with ariel

I'm Ariel in the school play, The Tempest. I think it's splendid that people was them at 30 degrees. Well, why not? However, after the first-night nerves, I will doubtlessly suffer in my tights, dancing on a stage. I fear my wash will need a 60-degree cycle.

I think One Winged Angel and Fruit Bat Femme would love to wash your smalls either way, flyte.

I bet Travis fans all said "Who?" when it was announced back in the day that an unknown band called Keane would be the support on their arena tour. Give Frankmusik a chance. He could be the next big thing. Indiegirl

iggy pop only became an icon through Trainspotting. Before that, he was a singer in a poor band, before they met david bowie. Name a chart hit that The Stooges had before Trainspotting. It can't be done. Tony Tudor

Mind over mind

"My Dyson has got a mind of its own," complained Uncle Robert. Which got me thinking (as events often do), what if his mind had a mind of its own? My mind would be all like "Jeremy Kyle," but his mind would be all like "Trisha". As it happens, Uncle Robert's mind HAS got a mind of its own. It tells him to burn things, apparently.

Klim Detaropave

iggy pop sold out years ago. He's been doing adverts for various scumbag companies for years now. As for him needing the money, pride comes before a dollar. Danny Kemblin

My tip for 2009 is Jesse Baylin. Her music is so beautiful and joyous. She's a big hit on the Hotel Café songwriter tours, and it's time she had some recognition outside the US. Also, I loved In Tears by Robots In Disguise. I'm not usually a fan. Young Gregg

Olden days

Donny's Angel Ah, it's really nice to have all the tinny boppers here in the Zine. Oh boy, I feel really old now (sigh).

*Double sigh*You're not the only one.

Zephyr Hey, people; age is a state of mind. Thought everyone knew that. I'm gonna be 32 next week on October 9. Hope you all wish me Happy Birthday.

And that's an end to the age debate. I have my own imaginings of you all in my mind. I don't want the mystery blown.

evil DeLorean

So it turns out I am only evil when I get drunk and start thinking about gay giraffes. And WLW isn't the only one... Please, let's not go there. I didn't even remember sending that e-mail until an old friend asked if I was not evil. Blonde butterflies are the best kind. I'm not feeling too evil today. I'd say about seven on the evil scale.

Countdown conundrum

Des is leaving Countdown- who cares, it's plop, you might think- but if you do, who do you think should be his replacement? Rumours are it's either eamonn holmes or Carol Vorderman. Personally, I think it should be a plank of wood- it's less dense, clean shaven and has more charisma.

Looking at a list of Brits winners, it's uncanny how those in power have always had their fingers on the pulse. In 1987, The Smiths could have won for the queen Is Dead but the award went to Five Star. What about 1990- Happy Mondays? Stone Roses? No. Fine Young cannibals. Adam Syntax

Junior Minister heard a chorus of screams. He looked up, then began to sprint down Downing Street. It appeared to be a highly dangerous situation: tony blair's underpants had escaped. I've read some nonsense on The Void, but to equate Luke Haines- one of the best English songwriters of recent times- with Louise Wener- really takes the cake. Combine that with some support for reality pop shows and a ludicrous claim that the stooges are only famous due to Trainspotting and I'm wondering what's gone wrong. Doc

Well, last week you had a letter knocking Swedish food, just like the renowned soap dodger jacques chirac. Classy

Charlie Brown had a red-headed girl. Our lectures have one too. She just cannot keep her mouth shut, so we're taking bets on how long it'll be. The record (today) was seven minutes. It's a great way for the class to bond when she starts going on about how her Latin name in her reconstruction group is... something along the lines of Boudicca, but not that classy.

Halloween lanterns

I was arguing with Jerry Springer about whether pumpkins or turnips make the best Halloween lanterns, and he told me to "Talk to the hand". I thought to myself: "Talk to the hand? What a strange request." but, figuring it was some weird American custom, I grabbed his hand and started explaining to it the wonders of the turnip. He punched me in the mouth.

The reason Oasis weren't nominated for any Brits is that they had their time 14 years ago. They're now at the stage where they win lifetime achievement awards. It's the youngsters' turn now.

I think a lifetime prize is something to be proud of, rather than stating "We don't win proper awards any more, so s*** like this will have to do," as Noel Gallagher did when they picked uo their Outstanding Prize in 2007. Indiegirl

I really don't think I need a fan club, WLW. I'd need a secretary and it would cost a fortune in stamps, even in these technical times. I like admirers, of course; they are always welcome. They help shield me from the haters.

lord sebastian flyte

You heard him, folks. Hand in your badges: both of you.

I understand what Earls is saying about Ian Brown's Brits nomination being a joke, but the qualification was from summer 2007, thus taking in his last album. Also, going against popular opinion, I love The Streets' current album. The Escapist is in my top three songs of last year. Adam Syntax

I'm no Basshunter fan anyway, but his video for Angel of The Night makes me want to stab me eyes with a fork. Basshunter Hunter

Rock on

Sundays should be renamed "Hangover Day". The rock clubs of Wolverhampton (yes, both of them!) don't know what hit them, with my unique form of dancing.

Fluffy The evil One

Is that's what called a "head banger"?

Queen of The Benobos If Kid V is the youngest Ziner at 12, am I the oldest at 48 1/2?

I'm sure some would say my puns are the oldest thing on Zine.

Naff Naff Bob Face The planet Earth is blue, and there's nothing I can do... no, wait a minute. * Changes colour setting on the telly * . There, lilac, lovely.

Time to take your protein pills, Naff Naff (and put your helmet on).

To answer Paul's question about Alain Whyte, he's still ver much involved in Morrissey's music- he co-wrote his songs on his Years of Refusal and I think they're the best ones. Whether or not he'll be back playing with Moz is another question, but he's superior to Jesse Tobias, as he's more innovative. Ian Tivendale

Leviathan fans upset with the new album should check out Peste Noire, Austere and Life Is Pain. Zyniker

Short And Sweet

Woo hoo! There are people my age here, that's cool! And there's someone younger than me as well. Although my name's not LR, it is actually Flabbergasted Baby Face, but seeing as I forgot to write my name at the end of the last e-mail, WLW decided to rename me, thus I will now be known as LR! It takes less time to write anyway.

LR

LR is a tad non-descript. Too late to change it back again?

I'm The Wittle-Est

I think I may be the youngest Ziner- I am second youngest on VR, but I think I'm the youngest Zine star. I am only 11. I haven't been writing in for over 10 years, I'm not at Uni either. I'd be too, too clever if I was already at Oxford reading Classics.

I'm tall for my age and not-at-all cute. So stop saying "aw"...

lord sebastian flyte

Aw... When you're older maybe you can tell me what to do.

After John Lydon's butter ad, I doubt any celebrity will shock me in the same way with an advert. I'm more disturbed by iggy's leathery torso than anything, though he's kept his physique in great shape. Shane Damien

Norwich Union's insurance ad with Ringo starr and alice Cooper is a joke. You changed your name to what? Who cares? iggy pop is allegedly still in the punk arena and alice isn't, that's why iggy gets the flak. Gazzoir

Tube Tales

The Underground must be the most miserable place in London. Have you actually seen anyone smile, other than when you step on their toes? You need to watch the "pinchers" on the Tube, mind. They fight their way into the middle of carriages to pinch a seat at the first opportunity. Next stop h*ll. Change at h*ll for more misery and Circle Line.

Junior Minister

I thought you'd have a Jaguar and driver at the ready, JM.

Conundrum solved

BoB On The Mat The job of top man on Countdown is obvious: Ronnie Corbett, though he'd need a booster for the seat.

Welcome to the Zine, Ronnie! I'll pass on your request.

One Winged Angel And the answer to last week's riddle? None of the cats made it to the top of Everest. I mean, who ever heard of mountain climbing cats?

Medulla's ancestors made it up Ben Nevis, I'll have you know.
