Ziners

Although we still don't know the point of having a full clock in Countdown, there are also many other occurances on daytime TV that need answering.

* On Ready Steady Cook, why does Ainsley ask the contestants how the food when they've barely put it in their mouths?
* Where does Anne Robinson get her desperate put downs from?
* Why are there no Fifteen To One contestants under the age of 65?
Wise Fruitcake

Why does Crossroads... well... why? 'Acting' at its very worst.

Grillamo When Dogtanian turned 6, his parents kicked him out. I think Social Services should be informed, don't you?

Or the Puppy Police. One or the other.

Flutterby Since the inevitable time has come, how do you eat your Creme Egg, WLW?

As quickly as possible, followed by another... and another.

Pink Mafia Hurrah for Channel 4. Black Books is being repeated. It is surely the finest sitcom ever produced by anyone... anywhere... ever!

Tooooo right!

If Ziners Were...

Dad's Army characters
WLW: Captain Mainwaring
Uneducated Shampoo: Corporal Jones
Savage Cabbage: Warden Hodges
skutter bob: Private Pike
Me: Sergeant Wilson

Also, it may be a bit adventurous, but could you do a Dad's Army-themed pic?
Distorted Simian

A pleasure. Please accept this Dalek on manoeuvres near Warmington-on-Sea.

Art

I've recently discovered the glorious thing called Art. Apparently, it's all about self-expression and such hootenanny.

But it comes in many forms such as paint, poetry, sculpture and... paint. There have been several phases of it as well such as the "pop art period" I think it should be taught as a subject in schools. Do you agree, WLW?
1929

How to make things out of chocoate- that's the kinda subject we want.

Hello, Zine!

I am Parsley Possum's "friend" as you may know, the one and only Mr Duck. The truth is, Parsley keeps me locked in the basement, feeds me only on piccalilli and instant mash and forces me to watch repeats of The Waltons.

Luckily, he didn't tie the restraints tight enough this evenoing, so concider this my cry for help!
Mr Duck

Where are you? Any familiar sounds? Train noise? Bon Jovi CDs?

An Ode To WLW

WLW who runs the Zine,
puts up the letters,
every day at 3 (ish).
You enlighten our day,
with comments (and pictures),
WLW-you make us happy.

Yet another for Poetry Corner's rubbish bin there...
She Who Lost The Plot

Er... well... let's just say- it did need a picture, enjoy!

WLW And Ziners

I don't know if any of you have been accustomed to safety scissors throughout your lives, but they are almost entirely useless.

I tried to cut a piece of paper with some and they failed, a telegraph pole- they failed. OK, I didn't actually try the telegraph pole but my point is they don't cut anything and so defeat the object of being scissors. They come in nice colours though.
Frank The Potato

Exactly! What's the point of them? I mean 'safety' scissors? Why?

A Plea To Ziners Everywhere

I presume some of you have heard the news that "Delia" has now become an official word. This was due to the fact many people say it. It has become a nationally recognised term.

So, if we at Zine were to make up a word, and we got enough people to say it, it could become part of the English language! I was thinking of splodgifirous- anyone got anything?
NinjaCow

Hmmmm... it's a bit wordy... how about scuzzy?

Jeffery Pig But how was I to know that just one kiss would turn my frog into a cow?

You're lucky- mine turned into Danny from Hear'Say.

Jezza (The Hairy One) I am a judge of fine cheeses! What are your thoughts on the greatness that is cheese, WLW?

Don't really give an edam really. Edam! No?

Miss Hybrid Feary Bennington This week, I will mostly be calling Davord... Dave!

Ooooh, so not a good idea.

I Am Not Amused

I must admit that I'm somewhat crestfallen. I showed up at the Hear'Say auditions on Monday in full battlefield regalia- including my jodhpurs and smoking my pipe- but the people in charge registered scant regard for my tonsillorial talent.

They would not let me past the door as I began trilling Land of Hope And Glory. I was most distressed. I felt my chirpy warbling would be awe inspiring.
The Brigadier

You needed a famous girlfriend- perhaps one of the Beverly Sisters?

WLW

The Stereophonics will never be able to inflict a greatest hits package on us, because they haven't got any.

And you have to be REALLY bad to have the infamous Geri fanatic- Peter Pinsent- call you bland!
Mrs TGW Bradfield

So that Handbags And Gladrags is by someone else, is it?

Peas

Peas are so annoying. They are so small and round, they roll everywhere. Whenever I cook peas, I always manage to lose about 10% of them due to spillage. And when draining the pan, you can guarantee some peas will escape down the sink, despite your best efforts.

Why can't we have square peas instead? They'd be so much easier to handle.
Captain Slog

Alternatively, eat mushy peas instead- vile, but they stay on the plate.

If Ziners Were Town Planners

WLW Crescent
Davord Square
Mavis Avenue
Fluffy Park
Broccoli Hospital
Jezza Road
Uneducated Shampoo Rise
Satan's Rubber Duck House

... and Zine Street, of course, with pubs, chip shops and stuff.
The Snorkmistress

Hmmmmm... pub names for Zine Street, how 'bout the Plughole and Possum?

Oh No!

The unthinkable has happened- the flaccid one has fallen.

I have fallen for the boy in the Slipknot hoodie. After spending so much time making fun of the unoriginal trendy sheep that are Slipknot fans, my hormones have got the better of me. Save yourselves- this could happen to you!
Flaccid Cookie

I can say, with all confidence- it ain't gonna happen to me.
