F*cking hell, I Picked quite a day to check back in here.

that is almost spooky.

I'll make sure i see mega zine today so, it's been a long time since i was last printed on it... must be 6-9 years ago

I only stopped when I stopped reciving S4C/channel 4

This going is like a part of my youth being taken from me, never to return, like when digi got censored then scrapped.

wow, it's like I've just been punched in the stomach.

Cheers for all the memories.

Well, the 'Zine is gone for good (read: for bad), and I felt it inappropriate to make my final letter a self-righteous epitaph. That means I can do that here instead.

Without 'Zine I'd have way fewer friends (and girlfriends), less confidence, better vision and I'd have to excrete my stupid puns at a church or a florist's or a BLOG.
It went on for way longer than people could've expected, and has been a victory for the kook for a long time, and a fun relief to embellish the dull everyday. It's brought a whole lot of young Brits together, and shall remain in our hearts. Or, at least, the cholesterol from the toast we had while reading it will.

The appeal has never been easy to explain to an outsider but it's there by the metric gallonload. Thanks to WLW (who signed off perfectly) and all good 'Ziners for the laughs.

(Maybe this isn't the best thread for this; I think this topic was in another thread but I don't remember which)
http://www.teletext.co.uk/EntertainmentChat/default.aspx

It redirects already. Even the taken-down notice didn't stay for as long as it should have.
Can anyone with TV Teletext try the actual page for 'Zine to see what happens there? At least a mention, please...

Okay; that's the message that was online for a while. Urgh, anyway. Urgh.

That's what I saw on the internet...
More like:
"Mega-Zine has come to an end and we're glad to be rid of it.

Teletext would like to thank all those viewers by telling them to f*ck off."

Also, can we violently be against whatever they think it was so important to replace it with?

that would be pretty funny. The 'Zine link now directs to TV Talking Point or whatever, what if we bombarded them with really rude emails demanding that 'Zine is brought back?

It wouldn't work, but it'd be funny as f*ck
Mal: Appears we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us?
Zoë: Big damn heroes, sir.
Mal: Ain't we just.

Maybe if we seem really oblivious to the fact that it's not 'Zine, or immediately resent them. The first idea played on "Who are you and what have you faggots done with WLW?"

The second is "Who wants to discuss TV? Bring back 'Zine etc"

The third might be, "here's a talking point: why teletext are arseholes..." or "Why 'Zine is a million times better than this piece of actual *rse fudge..."

I like Barry's idea of sending them emails that we would ordinarily send to 'Zine until they tell us to stop. But not mention 'Zine in case someone gets done.
