Megazine Letters. - You! Me! Milkshakes!

You! Me! Milkshakes!

Paul said we can make a big interview for the Discussion About Megazine thread. It would be really cool and interesting, I hope. We could ask lots of questions about Megazine and all his letters and bestest Megaziners, and also lots of questions about books and music and political things too.
I hope it is a cool idea. :-[

Please does anyone want to make any questions at-all? - Please can you send them to the Megazine Letters account again. It would be *really* helpful!

Also, please can anyone think of any other people for interviews too?

One thing you might ask Paul is where he gets all of his oxygen from. I tried to ask him this when we met up in town the other day but he couldn't account for every single oxygen atom so we had words and then he tried to make out he'd bought some from a prostitute he knows but he didn't have a receipt so I basically just went off.
I hope some day, for some reason, David Duchovny is investigated by the FBI. Because that would make a great story.

You can see this in your PM Outbox.
Some sites prefer the term 'Sent Items'.
'Outbox' is false in its original definition, but I think it's more appropriate in the internet age. I digress.

Maybe we could see if we can find some long-retired 'Ziners to interview?
I'm not very familiar with the 1990s crowd, but I think there'll be some much-admired old 'Ziners who can be contacted?
Of course, as I don't know much about these people, this is only if those who do are interested.

Or we could have other creative features from 'Ziners, I don't know :-[

Megazine Letters. - You! Me! Milkshakes!

You! Me! Milkshakes!

*An Interview With WLW.*
Questions by Alex, David-James, Deb and Strawberry.

Who are your bestest Mega-ziners ever?
Farmer Jack, Topper and The Brigadier (surely I’m not the only one?) I’m sure there are more, but I’m listening to Sinead O’Connor right now.

Who are your bestest Mega-ziners at the moment?
Vigilante Maelstrom and Paddy Irishman.

Which Mega-ziners do you think are really bad and annoying?
Daddypap of Wigan. Your name sounds like **** and, well, you are.

Which Mega-ziners have influenced all your letters?
While Rick Astley may not be a 'Ziner, he’s influenced everything from my hair to my love of 80s cheese. I was even part of a rick flash mob in my dreamzzzz.

Where does the inspiration for your letters come from?
Deeply Dippy about the curves you got, deeply dippy about the fun we had, deeply mad for the fun we had….woah…no idea.

What types of letters do you think are really neat and cool?
Lists, lists and more lists. I do quite like letters with hidden meanings. Anything with sexual innuendo…maybe that’s why I love Lilac Leopard so much. Hiya Claire!

Creative and ignored or boring and famous?
Creative and ignored. In my current job, I’ve realised that you can make a big difference without people necessarily knowing who you are.

If you'd never found 'Zine, what would you be like now?
I would probably have continued to write into the letters pages on ITV and Ceefax and indulged in some much needed Tory bashing. They don't like it when they have it up 'em do those Tories. I also take great pleasure in writing into such pages and spouting off the mindless drivel which I claim to have "learned" at university.

Megazine or 'Zine or The 'Zine?
I went bowling with ANBY recently. He lost, but convinced me it was Zeeeeen.

Fudge or Wispa chocolate?
I confess to getting a little too excited about Wispa bars coming back. When they did, I realised they taste just like advent calendar chocolate…yuk.

Which is your bestest Simpsons character?
Ned Flandars. I know a bloke who looks like him!

What is your favourite Simpsons episode?
I have absolutely no idea. While I do like the Simpsons, I don’t sit their religiously and watch it. I’ll be honest and say I found the film a bit disappointing too.

What are you bestest books and movies and bands?

I really love the Jason Bourne books by Robert Ludlam, which were written years ago. The three films with Matt Damon have been great, but the books are in a different league. They can be a little hard to follow, but they are worth sticking with. In many ways, I don't like computers because I’ve found they distract from the time that I used to spend reading when I was 11 or 12.
I've never been a great film fan to be honest, but I always love watching Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. Alan Rickman plays a great part. Enjoyed a few films recently, including Rocknrolla, Taken and that one with Ricky Gervais.

Alan Shearer or Kevin Keegan?
Tino thinks I'm mad, but when Keegan came back a wave of excitement gripped all Newcastle fans; it's something I've never ever felt before. Keegan walks out again and we're all heart broken. His time is probably up now, so Shearer shades it. It’s a shame that Big Al never managed to lead us to a trophy, though.

How come you support Labour?
I'll put it in simple terms: I pretty much hate everything that the Tories have ever done and I find the Lib Dems fairly wishy washy.
On the other hand, Labour stand for fairness and social justice. I don’t agree with everything we’ve done – particularly over the last 10 years – but we have achieved a hell of a lot. For example, where I live at the moment, I am seeing every school either rebuilt or refurbished, all council houses refurbished and modernized and extra investment in the Health Service. People have probably heard all of that a million times, but I firmly believe you wouldn’t have seen that had the Tories been in power.

What stemmed your interest in politics?
Watching the news every night and wanting to get closer to the action. I used to be a member of the Youth Parliament – which in hindsight I think is actually a load of rubbish – but that did get me interested.

Do you think if you came from a largely politically involved family it would deter you from the political interest? *speaking from experience*.
I will write to the Hon. Gentleman with the necessary information.

Do you think it is really silly lots of politicians are lots more important than all their ideas?
I don't particularly like celebrity politicians if that's what you're hinting at!

Who is your favourite politician?
Tommy "you will vote for the Government or else" McAvoy! We met him in a bar once and he scared us.

Do you want to be an MP at-all? - I would vote for you, I think.
Having worked for three MPs, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not the kind of life I want to lead. Of course, the job has its perks, but I couldn’t get up at 7am 6 days a week and finish after 10pm. I do want to be a local councillor, though, and I am looking towards 2010 for a seat.

Do you want to be Prime Minister ever?
I’d be the worst Prime Minister EVER.

If your were PM for one day, what would you do?
Ban men under the age of 50 from wearing cardigans.

Do you think Gordon Brown is a good Prime Minister?
I think he lost a lot of people when he didn't call an election and had some problems getting his message across at the start. Earlier in the year, everyone said Brown was finished. I think recent events have proved people wrong and have shown that the Tories don't have the answers. He still has some work to do to win people over, but I’m fully behind him and there's now a renewed sense of optimism in the party that we can win the next General Election.

Who do you want to be Prime Minister out of Alan Shearer, Jeremy Clarkson, Optimus Prime and Galdalf the Grey?
Alan Shearer would be more boring that John Major. CLARKSON vroom vroom.

Who do you think the UK is better under...Thatcher, Brown, a mongoose or Osama Bin Laden?
The G-Man!

Who do you *really* want to be Prime Minister?
Order, Order! Michael Martin! Gin and Tonic all around!

Barack Obama or John McCain?
Obama. See here…http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=DMs-p5y6cvo

Which historical figure do you identify with?
Martin Luther King.

What is your earliest memory?
Playing on the beach in Jersey with a pot on my broken leg and a bag around it to keep the sand off. Tough as nails.

What is your most compulsive habit?
Going over past mistakes.

If aliens asked you to live on their planet for five years, would you go?
No.

Would you accept a million pounds to leave the country and never set foot in it again?
Yes. I would love to retire by the time I’m 50.

If you were to appear on Jerry Springer, what would your episode be about?
"My balding, lanky Geordie Husband slept with my sister".

I remember that Claire said (in your appreciation thread) that you wouldn't let her put a photo of you on HotOrNot and you said that you wouldn't let her put THAT photo on. Why, what was wrong with the photo?
Please, please…no pictures!

Did you have an imaginary friend when you were little?
I always wanted a pony.

Would you ever have plastic surgery?
I'd like a BIGGER jaw. Not as big as David Coulthard’s mind.

What song gets you dancing?
Dance music wye aye man. I know you’ll all laugh, but I was gutted I missed Cascada at the Carling Academy. Like OMG, did he just say that? Yeah!

Which would you rather have, a horse the size of a rabbit or a rabbit-sized horse?
My friend once patted a horse for too long and things happened. It was messy.

Do you eat apple pips, or are you scared a tree might grow inside you?
I wish a tree would grow inside me, so I could produce my own red pippins.

What's the last book you didn't bother finishing?
A politics textbook. If you want to pass your degree, just skip to the conclusion.

Where do you get all your oxygen from? I tried to ask you this when we met up in town the other day but you couldn't account for every single oxygen atom so we had words and then you tried to make out you'd bought some from a prostitute you know but he didn't have a receipt so I basically just went off.
