Colin -

It's finally time to turn the tables...
Please send me any questions you'd like to ask to David-James!

Also, DJ, I'm guessing you keep a selection of old questions: If so, could you send me this please?

*An Interview With Little Blue Fox.*
Questions by Colin, George, Joel, That Thing, Strawberry, and also lots of old questions too.

How are you today?
Hi. I am ok, thank you. It is really sunny. I am really nervous about my interview now - I am worried everyone will think it is really scatty and boring and disappointing. I want to be really real and honest and true, but I want ot make lots of silly jokes too. I hope it is ok. :-[
Who are your bestest Mega-ziners ever?
Topper, Farmer Jack, Paddy Irishman, The DeLorean That Got Struck By Lightning. Also, I really like Fibreglass Monkey, Zaganza and The Lightning Lady too - they are all really funny and smart and different, I think.

Who are your bestest Mega-ziners at the moment?
Vigilante Maelstrom and Insane Jam Sow are both really brilliant, I think. Also, One Winged Angel and Haryuu No Hanekata and Strawberry too. I like The Psychedlic Gloom too.

Which Mega-ziners do you think are really bad and annoying?
Oh gosh, I don't not like Mondo Ray and Daddypoos at-all - they are both really creepy and smug and boring. Also, Gothic Fairy too - all her letters are sort of empty, I think.

Which Mega-ziners have influenced all your letters?
It is sort of no-one, I think - I really wanted all my letters to be *mine*. Lots of Mega-ziners and letters help me think of lots of neat ideas, but I should be me, still, or I would be anyone. Does it make sense at-all?

Where does the inspiration for your letters come from?
It is lots of little things, I think. Lots of TV shows and books and movies and random things help me think of ideas, and also lots of good letters too. Also, I think of whole letters out of nothing, sometimes, too - it is really random and exciting!

What types of letters do you think are really neat and cool?
Silly and surreal and funny ideas, and also different and creative ideas too.

Creative and ignored or boring and famous?
I really want ot be creative, I think - I want ot be really happy and proud and smiley about all my letters. I should care about al lthe things I write and I should try my bestest, I think. I should not write letters just to be noticed and famous. I would not not like to be famous, I think - it is sort of scary and intimidating.

Where did the name The Soul Cake Duck come from?
It is a character in all the Discworld books - it is like the Easter Bunny. It is Soul Cake Tuesday. It is sort of sweet and goofy mixed together, I think.
I made a letter, but I was not sure it was a good at-all. I did not like it at first - it was pretty dark and pretentious, but I really wanted to send it, still, because it was a challenge letter. I like it lots more now - it sort of sounds like a poem a tiny bit, I think.

Fudge or Toffee?
Fudge.

What is your favourite kind of doughnut?
Please can I have regular jam doughnuts? Oh, jam and marshmallows doughnuts would be really yummy too!

Which is your bestest Simpsons character?
Mr Burns - he's quite good at turning me on. - Oh gosh, you probably should not have read that. Um. I really like Lisa and Milhouse, and Sideshow Bob and Sideshow Cecil too.

What's your favourite Simpsons episode?
Homer goes to Clown College; Homer goes to regular college; also the Softball episode and Lisa loves Nelson (I am sorry I do not know all the episdoe titles at-all).

What are your bestest books and movies and bands?
Books - "THe Beach" by Alex Garland, "Bright Young Things" by Scarlett Thomas, "The Wind in the Willows" by Kenneth Graheme, "Naive. Super" by Erlend Loe.
- Movies - The Matrix, Amelie, Donnie Darko, Josie and the Pussycats, The Emporer's New Groove, The Truman Show, Seven, Straner than Fiction, The Science of Sleep, Hotrod and also Juno, maybe, too.
- Bands - Radiohead, Manic Street Preachers, Hope of the States, Belle and Sebastian, The Divine Comedy - also it is lots of other bands too.

Who is your favourite character in Scrubs?
JD.

What is your favourite Scrubs episode?
All the episodes about Ben are really amazing - they are really funny and sad mixed together, I think. I really cried.

Who are your favourite TV personalities?
Simon Amstell, Paul Merton, David Mitchell and Stephen Fry. I do not watch TV so much now. Oh, I like Claudia Winkleman too. :-[
Which dead TV show would you like to revive?
Firefly - it is really amazing, I think - all the characters are really funny and different and complicated - River and Mal are really brilliant, and also Joss Whedon wrote it too, but it was cancelled really suddenly. Grr!
Also, I really miss Daria and Black Books and Father Ted, but lots of new episodes would not be so funny and fun, maybe? it is a terrible dilemma! Oh, Henry's Cat and trapdoor and Bagpuss and lots of children's shows too.
Also, Joss Whedon was going to make a new Buffy show about Giles in England, and also a Buffy cartoon too, but he did not.

You go to the cinema a lot - what's the worst film you've seen?
Oh my goodness - I saw "Resident Evil" at the cinema with my friend in 2002 - I really wanted to walk out, but it was really busy. :-[
What do you think is really underrated?
Trees and flowers and the sky – all the world is really pretty and amazing.

What do you think is really overrated?
Pirates (oh gosh - I am sorry it is really random). I am not sure howcome everything thinks they are really cool - they are pretty creepy and horrible, I think. It is really weird it is Talk Like a Pirate Day too - we could make, like, Dress Like A Ninja Day, maybe (I would be a cool ninja, I think), and Talk Like Professor Frink Day - it would be so cool!

What's your favourite emoticon?

Do you really blush so much?
Yes - I get really embaressing about lots of things, and also I fell really silly too. - I am not so good at talking about all the things I think. I am not sure all my ideas and jokes are good and funny at-all ever.

Why are you so brilliant?
Oh my goodness! I am not brilliant at-all! I am really scatty and muddled and annoying and frustrating, I think.
I think I should try to be helpful and polite - it is sort of obvious a tiny bit, I think. Oh gosh - I am sorry I am pretty preachy.
Also, I worked in a supermarket in my year out, but lots of customers were really mean and rude and petty and arrogant, but I so much did not want to be like that.
I am really scared I will be really arrogant and angry and rude and horrible and complacent, but I will not notice.

Are you actually a real DJ like Joel?
If yes could we have a VR DJ showdown please, I think you would win.
Oh - I would really like to be a real DJ, but I am not sure - I do not like dancey music so much - I would be really a bad DJ, I think! It would be so cool to make songs and playlists for everyone.
A DJ showdown would be really fun - I would have blue lights and green lights and bubble guns. My first song would be "We are your friends" by Simian vs Justice - it is really twitchy and jumpy! I await Joel's reply song.

Is it true that when you get angry, you post under the pseudonym Jamie?
Oh gosh, I should not be angry on Vegetable Revolution - silly angry things make everyone really upset and grumpy too. I get sort of upset and flustered and quiet instead of angry.

What is your earliest memory?
I remember watching "She-Ra" in the dark, but all the kitchen lights were switched on, and also running round and round a circle table in the living room.

Which member of your family are you closest to?
My mum.

If aliens asked you to live on their planet for 5 years, would you go?
I am not sure.
I really believe in aliens. I saw a UFO in 2001.

Which historical figure do you most identify with?
Emily Davison and all the Suffregettes.
Also, Rachel Carson. - She wrote "Silent Spring" – it is about how lots of pesticides and chemicals are really dangerous and terrible, and also lots of people try to control animals and plants and natural things, but they *should not* – it is really silly and arrogant. Also, scientists should be repsonsible and careful.

What is your most compulsive habit?
I bite my nails. Also, I have OCD a tiny bit - I make everything really tidy and straight.

Do you ever say "Gosh" in real life, or is it something you just say on Zine and VR?
I say "gosh" and "goodness" and "frick" lots and lots. :-[
What colour are your eyes?
Blue.

Do you prefer to be called David or David-James?
I do not mind. David-James is pretty cool, I think - lots of boys do not have double names. But all the girls with double names are really silly and slutty (it is like Mary-Kate Olsen and Anna-Nicole Smith).

If you were Russian, what would your Russian name be?
Alexandrei Hipponov.

Which shampoo is the best?
Superdrug strawberry Monster shampoo - it is really nice, I think, and also it is a scratch and sniff bottle too.

If you formed a band, what would you call it?
Pop-Up Book, Morning Ghosts, The Cheshire Cats (Oh gosh - I am sorry it is a The band).

If you were to discover a planet, what would you name it?
Laika.

Who's your favourite superhero?
Spiderman, and also Rogue and Nightcrawler in X-Men. I am worried I am a really big hypocrite because I like lots of superhero movies, but I do not read comic books so much – it is really difficult to find lots of stories, and also I like thinking of lots of pictures and characters in my head.
I like Powerpuff Girls too.

What do you look like?
I am pretty thin and white. I have brown hair. I have a nice smile, I think, I hope.
I am sorry I do not make any photographs in the gallery - all my photos are really bad and horrible.

What's your favourite sport?
Football. I like climbing, surfing, and also running and athleticky things too.

Do you have any guilty pleasures? Care to share them with us?
I eat too many sugary things; daydreams; lots of cartoons; I think Ashlee Simpson is pretty. :-[
What's the naughtiest thing you've ever done?
I drew an advert about a boy in my graphics class in year 9 because he was really mean about my friends. He was pretty lonely, I think, but he was really mean and rude and spiteful to *everyone*. My advert was a sad rabbit eating lots of carrots: "Please be my friend! I will give you lots of my rabbit carrots! They are the scrummiest!". He got into lots of trouble too because he tried to tear it out of my sketchbook. I got a B+.
Also, I licked my fingers and dipped them in my friend’s drink because he scrinkled all my crisps.

Are you glad that your first name's not Barry, Brian, Bruce or Bertie?
Yes! Names are important, I think - lots of names are really poetic and beautiful.

Was this interview stimulating, or was it hard to enter into?
Oh my goodness - it was really difficult and interesting mixed together. Thank you for making lots of neat questions.
It is really confusing thinking about lots of questions all at once. I am not so good at talking about my self so much - I feel really silly and arrogant and exposed.

When you decide who is to be interviewed, is there any particular pattern or order to it, or is just a random thing?
It is sort of old person, new person..., sometimes, but also it is all the people I really want to interview too! Some people ask me too.
All the interviews are a really big accident, I think - I really wanted to make a big interview with WLW, but I asked Colin too because he said, like, "maybe i will let you interview me next", but I think he was kidding, maybe? I am not sure. Also, I asked Alex and Ian too - everyone was really enthusiastic.
Colin – Yes, I was actually kidding, but it ended up as a very good concept, and it’s really made the Mega-Zine Discussion board interesting.

All the interviews are pretty neat, I think - lots of threads are difficult, sometimes, because everyone said everything already, but all the interviews are really personal and open.

How did the fortune cookie thing go?
It was really cool, thank you! - We made cookies and rice and noodles, and also we made masks and finger puppets about all the animals in the Chinese Zodiac - it is sort of lucky all the Beavers are Year of the Dragon and Year of the Snake - they are pretty cool animals. My friend is Year of the rooster - he was really disappointed, I think! ("Aww, Roosters are rubbish" "Please can you stop clucking!").

When you did the ultimate Ziner poll thing, how did you decide who went in which pair? Was there any kind of pattern to it?
All the pairs were really random - everything should be really fair and equal.
One of the pairs in round 1 was Farmer Jack vs. Freshly Squeezed Cynic, but I scribbled it out and started again.

*Word Association.*
- ANBY...Zoidberg.
- DeLorean that got struck by lightning...Fun.

That's far too good a song to start with! I'd have to counter with Let's Make Love And Listen Death From Above by CSS.

I very much misread this and was rather shocked. Almost as shocked as the time you hoped someone got syphilis and then described the taste of Mexican magic mushrooms!

I cried when Ben died as well.

This new series is quite sad too, and makes me almost cry.

I just cry because it sucks

One question I forgot to ask -

You appear to have come out of your shell a bit more over the last couple of months. Is this a conscious effort?
