VR kicks ass!

'Ziners,
I am bubbling like a just-popped bottle of Babycham - yes, due to your overwhelming messages of support, the lords of Teletext Towers have had a re-think and saved my (very long) neck. 'Zine will live on, on digital TV.
From July 13 you can find Mavis, Medulla and moi on p839 on ITV DTT, DSAT and C4 DTT. It all sounds very technical I know, but bear with us - it's easy really. In the meantime please let your love continue to flow on this forum. We want more messages, more signatures and any ideas you have for the future of the most wonderful institution that is 'Zine!

Good. I came rather close to writing my first letter for years.

Will you have a new little picture to replace the spider/giraffe thing? I remember when that was chosen via images sent in from 'ziners.

Well that's good news. Can you not convince them to leave it on teletext though? You've got about 800 pages and you can't fit 'zine on one of them anymore???

You can read it on VR though, so all is not lost.

I'm kinda glad it's been saved. I thought it was best if it ended but when I heard it was, I was sad.

I won't be able to read it though. No Digital either. And I'm rarely on the web lately. I'll still send in letters. I wont see them printed, but I'll send them in anyways.

And WLW, you are no longer the weakest link. Hail!
Mal: Appears we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us?
Zoë: Big damn heroes, sir.
Mal: Ain't we just.

like i said, it needs to be on teletext. If half of us can't read it nobody will send stuff in.

I can take some of the digital copier monkey duties if you like. I have a sky+ box in my room so copying it should be no hassle for me

Yes, but it seems that fewer and fewer of us will read it.

So...is there any much point?

it's being read by proxy, so it's still being read by the same number of people. plus if the quality returns, then there is a chance more people will continue to read it, and more new decent 'Ziners, means more VRers

You could always bring back the idea of taking photos if you didn't want to copy them all up yourself. Get a Megazine photobucket account or something and someone could copy them up afterwards if they didn't have time. Anyone who has access to digital could do that, actually, even if they didn't have time to copy them up...

With added teh.

Incidentally the communal letter did get sent in, although I have a feeling that it's either not going to get on, or will get trimmed down significantly. It was kinda long...

Guess I'm just out of practice.

Nah, I got it. Must be honest though; I didn't actually use the poem outright (as it would have taken up even further space and whatnot). However, I did take a few things included in it and integrated them into the letter as a whole, so there are some remnants in there

I need to go to bed and sober up again.
