Frogs have to live near water, they have moist, smooth, slimy skin, their eyes bulge out and their legs are longer than a toads

toads have dry skin, they're bumpy (warty) eyes don't stick out so far and they have shorter legs
they also don't *have* to live near water, they just hang around it to breed.
Toads also generally have a wider, fatter/rounder body than a frog.

their gait is also different - while a frog jumps and hops, a toad will walk or run, and maybe make little hops if it feels like it, but they can't jump like a frog, what with having weaker legs.

then frogs lay eggs in a big clump, there as toads lay them in strings... and probably a few other things.
