"Sweetheart"?! We barely even SPOKE in GCSEs, and even then it was you and Peter Barker being, well, tittish.

I find that a bit over-familiar, even if you are just trying to be friendly.

I'll kick him in the c*nt, worry not.

Hey missy! You're not pathetic! People probably aren't thinking anything like that, so don't think it about yourself!!

Ruffling my feathers...Being ill again. I seem to be ill alot lately and it worries me. I've been doing so well recovering from my M.E. and it seems that lately, I'm exhausted again everyday with alot of stomach problems. The house is a mess and I have work to do...But I don't have the energy.

When someone says they don't wear a poppy because they hate everything to do with war.

Apart from the obvious stupidity of the comment, it was tempting to reel off a huge list of technological and medical advances that have been made primarily through wartime development.

How odd... our bin seems to empty itself. The hoovering somehow gets done, and yesterday I found a steak in the freezer. It was delicious.

Either I'm living in a magical dream world or I'm the Alpha-Omega bad housemate you really don't want to share with.

people in poker who raise before there are any cards on the table.

You've just got to be patient, Rox. If they want to raise the flop, fair play, let them buy the pot. If nobody calls their bets, they'll eventually get bored of doing it and leave the table. In the meantime, chances are you'll get dealt some good hole cards and can call their bluff when there's a higher probability of winning the hand.

Sometimes, the player raising the flop could have good pocket cards, so in that case, it's actually a good idea for them to play aggressively and force the weaker players out of the game. Just watch how people play and don't call for the sake of it.

I used to excel. Studied two years ahead throughout primary school, but that's irrelevant now.

Though I got a B at A-Level, I'm increasingly eluded now. It's the most populous lecture, hence most impersonal, hence I can get left behind if I don't get something. And that's most things now. Then I scribble everything out and write "Can't.", "No." or "Too stupid for University."

It doesn't help that the course runs with the heavy prerequisite of studying another particular (easier) course alongside, and us eight Music Tech students are not doing so, though we'll do that next year. Just us.

Anyway, decided I need to e-mail the head of the course because I'm getting nothing from the lectures at all and the tutorials seem no more useful. Though I did run away from the last one in anxiety-shyness-panic. I need the textbook that I never knew how to get, a quick talk about the parts that are getting me down (because I think I half-recognise them, they're just in a new form), and to be able to talk to the other guys so I'm not left behind. Hopefully this e-mail will bring the former two. It just takes a lot of guts...
