It just didn't feel like the manics, I much preferred know your enemy. But I'll give it another couple of goes. It took me 4 attempts before I 'got' OK Computer.

I don't dislike Know Your Enemy but it's not really something you listen to for leisure - A bit too long; gets a little tedious. It's no Sandinista!, though; that's a f*cking chore.
Lifeblood's fine for me.

I can certainly see how lifeblood would make good background music. I just liked the strangeness of KYE on first listen more than lifebloods 'smoothness'.

Not a fan of KYE at all (or Lifeblood for that matter), apart from the odd couple of songs. That's why the new record was such a nice surprise cos everything after Everything Must Go has just been one miserable downward spiral.

I Came in under budjet for my Christmas shopping and thought I'd treat myself. I'd seen Engel supporting Dimmu Borgir and I must say that this is the last time I ever let something stupid like being stressed to hell over missing my train, being in agony over those stupid wisdom teeth, feeling sick off the painkillers I'd been taking and missing half the bands set ever influence my decision over how much I like the band in question

Yes, it is. Almost as boring as the last Interpol album. F*ck knows how Battles could be so poor when their lead guitarist was in the excellent Don Caballero.

I didn't know they were still together. I seem to remember seeing them live a few times in the dim and distant and really enjoying it. Saw the album for a couple of quid in the bookshop, twas a done deal. Amy Puffalump, if you're reading this I advise you to investigate forthwith, I can imagine you absolutely loving them.

They're still together, I think Carolyn left but they got a new bassist. Every so often I see a gig listed in London, there's been talk of a second album for ages. Check out the War Of The Worlds single that was released last year.

Back on topic - Jakobinarina's The First Crusade. One of the most energetic bouncy albums of recent memory.
