My favourite White Stripes album is the first one (which is simply called The White Stripes). It's got a great sound, the drums sound like thunder and the guitar has a really cool gravely blues sound. Also, the songs are raw and while I wouldn't say basic, they have a powerful simplicity in places.

My favourite White Stripes songs are (I'll pick one of each album, even though I could pick loads):

Ball And Biscuit - elephant
The Union Forever - white blood cells
Hello Operator - de stijl
I Fought Piranhas - the white stripes

Is anybody going to Reading or Leeds this year to see the White Stripes? I went last year, cos they were going to play, but then Jack had a car accident and broke his finger, so they pulled out. But they're headlining the sunday at Reading, and I neeeeeeeeeeeeed to go, so I'm just going to buy a ticket on the day from a tout? Maybe.

De Stijl is by far their most consistent album, Elephant had a couple of stand out tracks but also a couple of dogs like Little Acorns. I'm just annoyed as my copy of De Stijl won;t play in my car for some reason.

Fave song, I'm Bound to Pack it Up or the live cover of Jolene I have

I quite like them, but I've never got around to listening to anything other than whats on the TV of theirs. I'm also upset by people saying I look like Meg, because I just don't. Might go steal their albums from a friends sometime, if I remember, they're not very high on my list of things to listen to

They're ok- I bought Elephant, but it's not that good an album. I don't really like them after buying that.

A little plea/request:

Has anyone here got the limited edition 7" vinyl single for There's No Home For You Here

It only came out a few months back, and, working in a record shop, I thought we'd get it in. However, Virgin Megawh*res being Virgin Megawh*res, they didn't send us any copies... (damn them! Damn them all! They'll send us a 12" copy of Usher's Burn #cough spit# but they won't send us a copy of the best single of the year so far?!?!? after Graham Coxon's Freakin' Out that is...)

Anyway, if anyone has a copy, I have a vast cd collection, and I'd be willing to swop a few cds for it, your choice too, cos I want it so badly...

The 'b' side is a ten minute live version of Ball and Biscuit aaaaah
