Darren is most certainly not my god!
I've just tested the 5 galleries and will test the one to upload attachments to posts with this post. They all worked fine so I've no idea what's going on, all you need to do is click 'Upload Photo' then it takes you to like a thread maker page and you need to fill in the subject and message and then click 'Browse' to find the image from your computer. If you still can't do it it may be a problem with your internet or something random, you could send it to me over MSN to post if this is the case

Paint is the easiest way. Hold down control and w and put 70 and 70 in the boxes saying horizontal and vertical stretch until you get the size you want. I've included a screenshot incase you don't get my confusing instructions.
