1. Remember when we used to be able to make text glow? I liked that. Bring back glowing text!

2. I know it's a strain on bandwidth to bring back the 'view all posts by certain person' option, but what if we were just able to view our own past posts? Or maybe the option to view everyones past posts could just be available to people who have donated

3. It'd be awesome if one of the colour options was 'random' so that the site would change colour every time we went to a new page. It could be called 'rainbow' rather than 'random' for added aceness.

4. Would it be possible to have an option in peoples individual profiles to turn the filters 'on' or 'off'? I only ask because if so, there could also be a 'pirateify' option where f*ck is changed to scupper and b*st*rd is changed to barnacle. Idea may have been stolen from Puzzle Pirates.

Yo ho ho!

I'm definitely for this and was thinking about suggesting it the other day.

It's not a strain on bandwidth to view all past posts, it's just in order to find all your past posts it has to open up every single post, and check to see who posted it.

Now, going through 575,499 takes a long time - And on the server, all programs have a timeout period of one minute so it doesn't block every other program from running. unfortunately, it takes more than a minute to go through every single post so it times out before it has a chance to check every post.

Basically, it's not possible to do unless I build an index or something... hmm, I'll have a think...

Glowing text only ever worked in IE, and was crap anyway - so no, sorry can't bring it back. The workaround to get it working for everyone caused peoples browsers to crash.

I could do the random colour changing thing.

And I'm sure I could do the "turn off filters" option, maybe add some funky stuff...

Obviously I'm dead busy with my job, but if I need a break I'll have a look at this for ya.

Ahhh. That'll be why the search function doesn't always find things? No worries. I also meant to ask if the photo gallery search is fixable, although I doubt I'd ever use it personally.

Being able to use Firefox > Glowing text.

Also, it'd be ace if there was a new section in the photo gallery for posting comic strips like these. If a thread was made the pages would be all distorted by larger images and take a while to load. It'd be a good laugh to visit every once in a while and you can comment on individual comics without having to quote the person who posted them, etc.

As great an idea as that is, we cannot implement it. You would need to access the file server and make changes to the underlying code of the site. Or alternatively have access to the admin account, which we don't, to allow us to install plugins.

sadly, Claire is right. The shoutbox is a separate entity as far as adding smilies goes. I think at one point, before the move to a more dynamic shoutbox system, that we currently use the two were more closely tied. Sadly this is no longer the case.

To clarify. We can only really change the structure of the site, in terms of boards and content, we cannot add additional functionality.
