So, we have a month packed full of mud-slinging, leading upto a General election with the Conservatives needing something like a 10% swing to gain power.

Who will you be voting for? Personally, i'll be sticking with Labour being a member and all, even though i'm not totally happy with some of the things they are doing/plan to do (and i'm not talking about the war!)

Hopefully, we'll see an increase in turnout (only 59% last time).

I'm no Blairite, but I will be voting Labour just to keep Howard out. He strikes me as the worst kind of opportunist - see his party's deliberately sensationalist stance on immigration and abortion.

Do people seriously think Howard is any more trustworthy than Blair? I despair if they do.

A few months too young to vote, yet still plenty old enough to pay tax. Bloody government.

Monster Raving Loony Party all the way.

I refuse to vote for Tony Blair because he's just got this mentality of doing whatever the hell he wants regardless of his party or public opinion or whatever, and I will never ever even consider voting for the racist conservatives, so Lib Dem. Besides, I live in a marginal Lib Dem constituency, so I'd like to see them hold it.

Hope is important.

I am going to vote for the Green party, I think. I think I trust thme and belive them mopre than the other parties., but I am not sure yet.

I would not vote for Tony Blair because he has done lots of bad and arrogant things. I do not trust him at-all.
I am not sure I trust Michela Howard, too.
It is really confusing lots of political people are really sneaky and creppy and back-stabby, and I should not vote for them. :-[

Damn bats

Voting Labour means voluntarily putting Blair back in, the Conservatives are the Conservatives, UKIP and the BNP are scum and the Greens haven't a chance. So I'm going for the Lib Dems

I live in a marginal Labour constituency, and the Lib Dems have no chance whatsoever of winning it. So, I'll be doing my bit to keep the Tories out by voting Labour, even though I'm not completely satisfied with them.

I think Joel has the better idea of voting for the party which is more likely to affect your constituency. Voting Lib Dem would do nothing for my ward, therefore my vote will go to Labour to keep the Tories at bay, although if enough of a Lib Dem following gathered, I'd gladly vote for them as they make the most sense.

Even if I didn't live where I do, I'd still vote Lib Dem on principle. That's what it should be about.

A very attractive man. Not me. Him.

where i live back home is lib dem at the moment and they have done some good work. at university, it's close between lib dem and tory, the students and the posh retired village folk, and i know which way i go on that. hull proper though is john prescott's seat which tands to affect the closest constituencies.

my friend alex says he's voting lib dem because labour have messed it all up really, the tories are creeping slimebags whereas charles kennedy seems like a good honest bloke who'll do his best. i think that's a tad naive, they're all politicians after all, but not the worst policy i've heard.

I'd vote Lib Dem if I thought it would make a difference. It's a shame that it seems to come down to "who can keep the Tories out?" Unless, of course, you want the Tories in.

Doesn't trying to get Labour out count for anything though?

Yeovil is currently a lib dem seat. Our former mp was Lib Dem leader Paddy Ashdown but since he stepped down, it's gone to David Laws..a complete f*cking idiot. Idealistically, I want labour out, but realistically - Tony Blair will win a third term in office and that will be that. He's more or less running Britain as a president these days and has been useful to advancing the illuminati's open-ended and unjust war on terrorism, along with American war-criminal, George W Bush. After serving the cause so well, there is no way he'll be dethroned just yet.

Also, how do you know when you've won a war on terrorism?

Anyway, I can't stand most political parties, so I'll be voting green, as usual. Also, it doesn't matter anyway, as the 'government' is still going to get in. All that really happens is they swap seats. It's like potical f*cking chairs. The civil servants are still the same. It'll still be the same faces in the house of lords. The only differences will be the names and faces of the people giving the voting public the royal screw job when they higher our taxes, or implement laws which further remove our rights and civil liberties. F*ck the lot of them, as far as I'm concerned. Vote green. Better still, burn the lot of them and let us VR folk run the country!

Well, i was out campaigning for the first time ever today in Goole and Brigg. Delivering leaflets that nobody will read, ringing people and 'blitzing' voters by knocking on doors.

The blitzing thing was really good. a few Labour students plus David Causey MP and the Minister for the Environment persuading and encouraging people to vote Labour.

Michael Howard is a loser. You know how he's getting all these controls on immigration? It's hypocritical! He keeps saying how he's going to 'give britain back what it gave him' BUT that's it exactly. Why be so tough on immigrants,. when he is one himself. Surely he should sympathise with them. I know, I know...yada yada, they take all the houses and all the jobs......well, no actually, legal immigrants are good for the economy. But you get my point, right?

Anyway. So, no to the conservatives. NO TO LABOUR, stupid tw*ts. Although......labour is the only party who will not support lowering the abortion week thing from 24 to 20.......I think the other parties would do well to follow this. BUT STILL..........NO to labour, cause this country is in a mess. You know, gordon brown went and sold off a load of our gold for knock-down prices?? Yes, yes he did. Thanks mr. brown, that's great for the economy.

So. I would vote for the green party, but, they are never going to get the majority.............so.................i think it'll be liberal democrats this year. But I'm not so sure I like charles kennedy. But whatever, no matter.

So, yeah. If we can get enough people voting lib dem way...as many of you seem to want to do, but aren't in fear that the tories will get in instead, well............................meh, if labour get back in.................that's crap, but ah well.

Along with Mo Mowlem, Paddy Ashdown is probably one of the only politicians I would trust to give me the time of day. I remember he got attacked in town by some guy, who I think had a knife or something..and Paddy Ashdown won (being an ex-Royal Marine Commando, may have helped a bit). Also, Paddy Ashdown used to buy Christmas and Birthday presents for the Children in local care homes that had nothing. This he did privately and out of his own pocket.

A few years back, I would have vote Lib Dem. Now, I'm voting Green. I don't want Britain to be led by war-criminal Blair, or that f*cking brainless Dracula, Michael Howard. Charles Kennedy seems the best of a bad bunch of party leaders..but they are all lying scum imho.

back to luco el locos post, speaking of the tories being racist, one of their election taglines in the fifties was: 'if you want a n*gg*r living next door to you, vote labour'. now im sure they don't endorse that now, but im sure there are still plenty of 'old school' conservatives with those views around. only they now call themselves the BNP.

But yes, all this "baa baa blue sheep..." and "chalkboard" not blackboard/ whiteboard p*sses me off. It also seems like it's encouraging racism in a way, like being a "black sheep" is unacceptable. But I think they'd find it a huge task to change the language of a nation.

Actually, most of the stories in this area were made up by someone taking the p*ss. However, as everyone knows, the Daily Mail has no sense of humour. In fact I think the PC situation is largely an invention of them, the Sun and the rest of the right wing press.

It told me the Green party. Just.
There's posters up all around our school. It's funny to see "Vote socialism!" Then "Socialism? It doesn't work. Vote Conservative!" next to each other. It's even funnier that they're there in the first place, since we can't vote.
