Ive only been to the 'Towers' once. Wasn't nearly as good as Blackpool in my opinion, yet it's still the one people talk about more in College, and the one that first comes to mind when people say those two words: "Theme Park"

[glb]Blackpool[/glb]

+ The Beach!! I bet we all remember our first camel donkey ride along the blackpool prom.
+ Cool rides that dont take 4 hours to cue up for.
+ Easy to find your way around, and yet theres pleny to do.

[glb]Alton Towers[/glb]

+ Massive rides - some of the scariest.
+ Long Cues, too many people.

Alton by far!

Blackpool does have some lovely coasters, the beach, etc. But Alton is a Tussauds park, and Tussauds know how to run parks. Alton has the best coasters in the country, nothing at Blackpool could equal Oblivion, Nemesis, Air, even Corkscrew.

Did you, perchance, go on an Ultimate Event day? On those days they have concerts in car park G, which means there's the general public plus 15,000 concert-goers - I only got on 3 rides on Ultimate Event day.

Usually I get on everything I want to. Best time to go is first/second week of September. They're still open for peak but all the kids have gone back to school, almost every ride is walk-on...

it was a school holiday - so lots of schools there. well, people from the schools, it'd be a bit scarey if the schools themselves turned up and wanted to go on Air but werent allowed because they were too heavy and then got upset and pressed charges and.....

The Monorail goes from the back car park by the hotels to the main entrance, not the middle of the park.. And it's about a 10 minute walk, you have to go right round the outside of Forbidden Valley, Gloomy Wood, Katanga Canyon and Merrie England...

With Blackpool though you don't even need a monorail, you can get from one side to the other in two minutes on foot. Much like Thorpe.
