So how daring are my fellow VRers? What's the biggest ride you've ever been on? How do you feel about "upside down" rides? Personally, i started off on the Playstation at about 10 years old, but did not get on the Pepsi Max until i was around 14.

In fact, i'd bet everyone is scared of rides until they actually go on them, and realise they're not 'scary' at all - they're exciting!! I reckon everyone (excluding those with heart problems ) should get on something like the Playstation at least once, to see if i am right. (*idea* - We should have a VR meet in Blackpool).

The one problem with this theory of course, is that it means i have to try the Oblivian next time i go to Alton Towers.... *gulp*

Oblivion. But in view Nemesis is much better. It lasts longer. And oblivion is pretty much a one-trick ride.

I was lucky enough to go on the Pepsi Max before it officially opened. I agree thought that it's a bit sh*t after the initial drop. I've been on all the ones listed. I want to go on that ridiculously huge one in America, if I ever get the chance...

The only problem I have with rollercoasters is the night after, I'm in bed and my body is still lurching with the G-forces.

Have you been on Spinball Whizzer at Alton Towers? That was Crazyfun

Pepsi Max is the biggest ride I've been on, but not the best.

The best is Oblivion. It may be over all too quickly but it's the best rush I've ever got from a ride. Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe is good.

Biggest non-coaster (by height) is probably Playstation, but I'll have to check up on the height of Tidal Wave and Detonator at Thorpe...

Incidentally, Playstation isn't Playstation any more, BPB and Sony's contract ended, it's the Ice Blast now.

I definitely think we should do a VR theme park meet - maybe Blackpool, but Alton would be better... I think I might have to arrange this... How's first week of September sound?

Not here much.

I don't do rollercoasters. I can't handle G forces very well.

Yeah, i knew this. But Playstation sounds cool, "ice blast" is a bit of a sh*te name.

I agree Alton Towers would be more fun, but there is more chance i could make a blackpool meet. and FJ martin isnt likely to get off his a*se either.

I beat you all. I've been on the Dragon Kahn at Port Aventura in Salou, Spain, which (I think) is the world's only 8-loop rollercoaster.

And you're right, I refused to go on a loop until I was 12, and that was only because a girl I fancied was going on it.

They forgot to strap me into the looping coaster at flamingo land (which was the first triple looping coaster in the world... or something like that) - so I went round it held in by g-force alone.

Which was cool 8)

I have been on lots of upside down rides in Alton towers, camelot and blackpool. Pepsi max was horrible when it was making clicky noises as it went up very slowely to the initial drop and stayed there for just enough time for you to get scared and then it just drops

right, well i live 5 minutes walk away from the pepsi max. i've been on it lots annnnd... its probably the worst ride ever when you get used to it.

is anyone jealous that i live 5 minutes away from blackpool pleasure beach? it'd make my day if there was someone, because i'd rather not live here. i'm not making much sense really. but heh, like i care.

That ride RULES

Best ride I've been on has to be the Hulk or Dueling Dragons at IOA in Florida, the Hulk and Oblivion are the two rides I've been scaredest of going on before I went on them.

Spinball Whizzer was good, but the queue is positioned in such a way that every time one of the things goes back into the station all you hear is "Spin-BALL Whizzeeeeer!", in a really squeaky voice, followed by instructions for getting out of the vehicle. Very annoying, trust me.

I gave Oblivion a miss (too scared), but Air is really excellent.

I trust you, because I know it's true. But the music in the queue is fun- made up a couple of dances (along the lines of big fish, little fish, cardboard box) got strange looks from many a person. All good.

I forgot about AIR- AIR rules! The front really is like you're flying... Well if you forget harnesses and the like.

i've been living with rollercoasters all my life, so unfortunately they're no longer anything special. however, it was only two years ago that i discovered rollercoaster simulators. i love those. admittedy, theyh're not as good as the real thing to most people, but the real thing no longer has much effect on me, so these simulators are just as good. i recommend.

Yeah they are very cool. Especially if you do like I do and hold on to nothing at all, and go flying about the inside of the cabin - muchos fun!

Ahh yes! I forgot about Air. I REALLY have to go on that. Alton Towers meet it is. Is Easter okay? Its a bit far, but the Uber is coming up and it would give time for people to plan for it...

Also, amie would be here, and we could tell her that 'nemesis' is what English people call monorails.

Easter is waaaaaay too soon. The start of the season is always fun to go to, but I personally doubt I'll be able to do it, I'm doing Thorpe the week before...

Unless everyone wants to come to Thorpe instead, 16th March 2005, woo.

...but I think September is better. Right at the end of the summer holidays, because Alton will have had time to tweak everything so it's running fine, RITA: Queen Of Speed will have opened, and the park'll be empty, so we'll get on more rides.

I was too scared to go on Nemesis at Thorpe Park, so I waited for 45 minutes while my friends went on it, watching it whoosh out the thing right at the beginning.
