People who can't make their own sites...

They really p*ss me off sometimes.

Does that look somewhat... familiar? The dude who makes that site runs some of my mods for YaBB, ad he had the balls to say "please help me, I can't get this working" and posted a link to his site. where he nicked my entire template!! - it's not like he just copied the layout (which is OK in my books) - he copied the entire HTML source (errors and all) and all the images! - they are byte for byte exactly the same files
Even the gallery that they have (maybe it's just a coincidence that they use the same gallery software on here
) - that uses the same template as on here (of course, the site admin isn't clever enough to get it integrated into YaBB... hehe)
It's not even like VR is designed is that well...
I'm p*ssed, and this should be in rants, but I want to post it here, because I can. And I want the dude who ripped me off to see that I'm very angry. It's fine by me to take ideas from a site, and even imitate the look of another site, but to simply rip off the HTML, and images is just plain not on....
Screenshots are in the gallery, in case he changes the site sharpish...

Update: The dude who's site it is informs me that it was an apparently reputable web designer who was paid to make it... but instead just nicked it from me - so don't go on a war against that site, as it will do no good.

I have now beat the hell out of changed my designers, and a new site is on the way. Above also applies to Lilac Leopard's suggestions

He paid himself to do it... it was his own design company that made this site, I think... andrew found that yesterday. He's still nicked all andrew's code y'know... just not the images this time. And we know it's his code cause it has all Andrew' mistakes
OK - final posting on this...
As I have explained to LoonyPandora, I needed a forum site, and had no idea about perl and php, so I paid a 'friend' who does know these things to make a site for me. And I put me as the designer (with his approval), because I felt like it. He doesn't do web design as a rule, just programming in perl, so he didn't mind me taking the credit for me and my company.
Still, I know you will think what you want to, but the site is now going to change again anyway, on a point of principle.
I have apologised to Andrew, and I will apologise to you all, but I had no idea until a couple of days ago that madbeginnings was identical to this site. And until the site changes, Andrew is getting full design credit for the site as is. Sorry

thats ok dude I never knew he'd spoke to you about it yesterday I was too hyped up about seeing the ataris to bother (silly me) I should've asked before saying anything (I live with him so I sorta... see what his does with a delay :p) hehe it's kinda complimentary that you thought his site good enough to copy anyway... I mean, that whoever copied it did. Good luck with your site anyway!
